Center Joint Unified School District (CJUSD) is a school district, located at the northern edge of Sacramento County, California, in the town of Antelope. It was founded in 1858. [2] There are two high schools (Center High School and McClellan High School), one middle school (Wilson Riles Middle School), and four elementary schools (Dudley Elementary, North Country Elementary, Oak Hill Elementary, and Spinelli Elementary),.

Center High, the primary high school for the district (McClellan is designated as an alternative school, intended to help at-risk students graduate) was recently ranked the third-best public school in the state.[ citation needed ] Its student publications program, which includes the Blue & Gold newspaper, and The Epic yearbook, has won many different varieties of awards., top-10 rankings in every year between 1996 and 2011 (except 2004).[ citation needed ] They went to full-color in 2009–2011.

The current superintendent of Center Unified School District is Mr. Scott Loehr.

In 2003 Center USD gave territory to Roseville Joint Union High School District and Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District. [3]

The Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District began in 1876, with only a few students in a schoolhouse. It is now among the fastest growing school districts in the State of California. The District has constructed new elementary schools in the past four years. Creekview Ranch Middle School was the most recent school to open in the district, first serving students for the 2008–2009 school year. It is anticipated that the District will continue to grow for the next 10 years, serving approximately 8,500 K-8 students.

The Palm Springs Unified School District, or PSUSD, is one of three public education governing bodies in the Coachella Valley desert region of Southern California. PSUSD governs the western half of the valley; the Coachella Valley Unified School District and Desert Sands Unified School District oversee communities in the eastern half.
