The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball tournament is the annual conference basketball championship tournament for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The tournament has been held annually since 2002. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. [1]

The NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament is an annual tournament to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II women's college basketball national champion. Basketball was one of 12 women's sports added to the NCAA championship program for the 1981–82 school year, as the NCAA and Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) sought for sole governance of women's collegiate athletics. The AIAW continued to conduct its established championships; however, after a year of dual women's championships at the national level, the AIAW disbanded.

The Apprentice Builders are the athletic teams of the Newport News Apprentice School, located in Newport News, in the U.S. state of Virginia. The Post Eagles are composed of 22 teams representing Post University in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field. Mike McLaughlin is the women's basketball coach for the University of Pennsylvania since 2009. For his basketball playing career, McLaughlin reached the first round of the 1989 NAIA men's basketball tournament while at Holy Family College. From 1989 to 1992, he continued to play basketball with the Washington Generals. After becoming the women's basketball coach for Holy Family in 1995, McLaughlin's team were in the Elite Eight of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Championship four times from 1998 to 2002.
