Chad Wilt (born May 6, 1978) is an American football coach who is currently the co-special teams coordinator and defensive ends coach for the Michigan State Spartans.

Coaching career

Wilt got his first career coaching job in 2001 as the defensive line coach and special teams coordinator at Central Connecticut State. [1] In 2004, Wilt would join the Virginia Cavaliers as a graduate assistant. [2] In 2006, Wilt was hired by the Liberty Flames to serve as the team's special teams coordinator and defensive line coach. [3] In 2009, Wilt would again join Virginia, this time to serve as the defensive line coach and special teams coordinator. [4] In 2010, the Richmond Spiders would hired Wilt to be the team's defensive line coach. [5] In 2011, Ball State decided to hire Wilt to coach the team's defensive line. [6] In 2014, Wilt was hired as the defensive line coach for the Maryland Terrapins. [7] In 2016, Wilt became the defensive line coach for the Army Black Knights. [8] For the 2019 season, Wilt joined the Cincinnati Bearcats to coach the team's defensive line. [9] In 2020, Wilt was hired by the Minnesota Golden Gophers to coach the team's defensive line. [10] In 2022, Wilt was hired by the Indiana Hoosiers to serve as the team's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. [11] For the 2023 season, Wilt would transition to become the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Hoosiers. [12] After Wilt was not retained by new Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, Wilt was hired by the Michigan State Spartans to be the team's co-special teams coordinator and defensive ends coach. [13]

Since 1895, only six of the 25 head coaches have left Indiana University with a winning record. The last one being Bo McMillan in 1947.

Dane Fife is an American former college basketball player and assistant coach. Fife is the former head coach of the Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Mastodons men's basketball team and a former college assistant coach at Michigan State University under Tom Izzo for ten years before leaving to become an assistant coach at his alma mater, Indiana University. He was let go by Indiana after one season.

Barnett previously served as associate head coach/co-defensive coordinator at Michigan State as well as defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach at Florida State University. As a player, Barnett was a four-year letter-winner as a defensive back for Michigan State University, serving as team captain and earning All-America honors during his senior year, and spent seven seasons in the National Football League.

The 2009 Illinois Fighting Illini football team represented the University of Illinois during the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team's head football coach was Ron Zook. The Illini played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois. This was Ron Zook's fifth season as the Illini head coach. The Illini finished the season 3–9. The Illini failed to live up to the lofty preseason expectations, receiving almost enough votes in the AP Poll to be ranked, and even were considered a dark horse candidate for the Big Ten championship. But after their blowout loss to Missouri, they failed to receive any votes, and failed to show any improvement until the Michigan State game, which followed blowout losses to Penn State and Ohio State, but by late in the season, they were able to upset Michigan and Minnesota while also giving Cincinnati a game.

Luke Joseph Fickell is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers. Previously he was the head football coach at the University of Cincinnati, a position he held from 2016 through November 2022. Fickell played college football as a nose guard at Ohio State University from 1993 to 1996 and then was an assistant coach for the Buckeyes. He was interim head coach at Ohio State for the entire 2011 season.

Mike Tressel is an American football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. Tressel, the nephew of former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, joined the University of Cincinnati's football coaching staff under Mark Dantonio in 2004. Tressel followed Dantonio to Michigan State when he was hired there in December 2006. He was named the acting head coach when Dantonio announced his retirement in February 2020. Tressel was one of two Dantonio assistants retained by Dantonio's successor, Mel Tucker.
