Chaim Schalk (born April 23, 1986) [1] is a Canadian beach volleyball player. Schalk placed ninth at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [2] [3]
Chaim Schalk grew up in Red Deer, Canada. He has four competitive brothers. He grew up learning how to fight and work for everything (including food at the dinner table). Chaim started playing volleyball at age of 12. He and his brothers erected a makeshift net in their backyard. After picking up beach volleyball, he pestered his father to build a sand court where he and his high school friends could play. His father arranged for a truck to dump the sand but he and his friends had to level it out. Chaim credits the backyard beach court for taking him from just enjoying the game, to wanting to really pursue it! [4] [2]
Up until 2009, Chaim’s primary focus was indoor volleyball. He was a setter and a Second-Team All-Canadian while playing for Trinity Western Spartans for two seasons from 2006 to 2008. [5] He also won two National Championships with Red Deer College. [4]
That all changed when Chaim made the Canadian Beach Volleyball National Team and competed on the FIVB World Tour in 2010.
The two Albertans (Chaim Schalk and Ben Saxton) teamed up near the end of the 2012 season, in part, because both were in favor of spending more time training in California with the top American teams. They won their first tournament together, at a NORCECA event in Chula Vista, cementing the partnership. Another early highlight was a fifth place finish at the 2013 World Championships in Stare Joblonki, Poland, for Canada’s best ever men's result at the global event, after defeating one of the top teams in the world, Latvia’s Janis Smedins and Aleksandrs Samoilovs. Saxton and Schalk went on to reach their first ever FIVB World Tour podium in 2014, claiming bronze at the Parana Open in Argentina. They closed the season with a victory at the NORCECA continental championship. Their 2015 season included podium finishes at the Yokohama and Olsztyn Grand Slam events. They reached a Major Series podium for the first time in July 2016, taking bronze in Porec, Croatia. [2]
In their Olympic debut at Rio 2016, Saxton and Schalk advanced to round 16. Taking ninth place in Men's Beach Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [4] [2]

William Reid Priddy, known as Reid Priddy, is an American volleyball player on the United States men's national volleyball team and Italian club Cucine Lube Civitanova. He has also played on the AVP tour from 2000 to 2006.
The Canada men's national volleyball team represents Canada in international volleyball competitions. The team placed third in the Pan American Games in 1979, 1999, and 2015. Canada's other achievements include a fourth place at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games and two bronze medals at the Pan American Games in 1979 and 1999. They have participated in four Olympic Games, including most recently a fifth-place finish at Rio 2016, after returning to the Games following a quarter-century absence. Canada hosted the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto where they beat Puerto Rico for the bronze medal. Canada competed at the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup in 2015 for the first time in 12 years, finishing seventh. They last appeared in 2003, also finishing seventh. They finished joint-seventh at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.
David Cameron Lee is an American volleyball player, currently playing for Indian Club, Kochi Blue Spikers. As a member of the United States men's national volleyball team, he is an Olympic Champion at the 2008 Summer Olympics, an Olympic bronze medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a three-time Olympian. He is also a two-time NORCECA Champion, a gold medalist at the 2015 World Cup, and a gold medalist of the World League.
Yhonastan Fabian, is a male volleyball and beach volleyball coach as well as a former player from the Dominican Republic, who participated with La Romana in the 2013 FIVB Club World Championship as assistant coach.
Taylor Mackenzie Pischke is a female Canadian volleyball player. She has won seven Canadian national titles, including the CIS women's volleyball championship in 2014.

Tyler James "TJ" Sanders is a Canadian male volleyball player. He is a member of the Canada men's national volleyball team, a participant in the 2016 Summer Olympics, a gold medallist at the 2015 NORCECA Championship, and a bronze medalist at the 2015 Pan American Games. Bronze medalist at the 2017 World League where he ranked statistically as the top setter. He won the Polish cup with Trefl Gdansk. He has been sidelined by a back injury, but has helped the Canadian team qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
John Gordon "Gord" Perrin is a Canadian volleyball player. He plays club volleyball for Russian club Ural Ufa, and was a two–time Turkish Champion. Perrin is a retired member of the Canada men's national volleyball team, participating in two Olympic Games, as well as winning gold at the 2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship.
Rudy Verhoeff is a Canadian male volleyball player. He is a member of the Canada men's national volleyball team and Swiss club Volley Amriswil, a participant in the 2016 Summer Olympics, a gold and silver medalist at the NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship in 2015 and 2013, and a bronze medalist at the 2015 Pan American Games.
Graham Saxton Vigrass is a Canadian male volleyball player. He is a member of the Canadian men's national volleyball team. He was a participant in two Summer Olympic Games, 2016 and 2020, a bronze medallist at the 2015 Pan American Games, a bronze medallist in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League and a gold medallist at the 2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship.
Nicholas "Nick" Hoag is a Canadian male volleyball player. He is a member of the Canada men's national volleyball team, a participant in the 2016 Summer Olympics, a gold and silver medallist at the NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship in 2015 and 2013, and a bronze medallist at the 2015 Pan American Games.

The Trinity Western Spartans men's volleyball team is a university varsity volleyball program in Canada that represents Trinity Western University, competing in the Canada West Universities Athletics Association of U Sports. Based out of Langley, British Columbia, the Spartans play their home games at the Langley Events Centre, a multi-sport facility close to the main campus. Led by then head coach Ron Pike, the Spartans won their first ever National Championship in 2006, defeating the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the final by a score of 3–0. Since then, the Spartans have won five more championships, for a total of six, hoisting the Tantramar Trophy again in 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2019. Since 2007, the Spartans have been led by head coach Ben Josephson. In the Canada West conference, the Spartans have won the league title six times, taking the conference championship in 2007, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.
