Kaththri Achige Dona Chandrika Lakmalee (born 27 October 1978) is a Sri Lankan former cricketer who played as a right-arm leg break bowler. She appeared in one Test match and 10 One Day Internationals for Sri Lanka between 1998 and 2000. She was also part of Sri Lanka's squad at the 2000 Women's Cricket World Cup. Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga,commonly referred to by her initials CBK,is a Sri Lankan politician who served as the fifth president of Sri Lanka from 12 November 1994 to 19 November 2005. She previously served as the prime minister from August to November 1994 and the chief minister of the Western Province from 1993 to 1994. She is the country's first and only female president to date and the country's second female prime minister. She was the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from 1994 to 2005.
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team,nicknamed The Lions,represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test,One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. The team first played first class cricket in 1926–27 and became an associate member of the ICC in 1965. Sirima Ratwatte Dias Bandaranaike,commonly known as Sirimavo Bandaranaike,was a Sri Lankan politician. She was the world's first female prime minister when she became Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in 1960. She chaired the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from 1960 to 1994 and served three terms as prime minister,two times as the chief executive,from 1960 to 1965 and from 1970 to 1977,and once again in a presidential system from 1994 to 2000,governing under the presidency of her daughter Chandrika Kumaratunga.
Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer who represented Sri Lanka from 2000 to 2015. A former captain in all formats. He was born in Matale,Central Province. In first-class cricket,he played for Nondescripts Cricket Club from 1997–98 to 2013–14 and for Surrey County Cricket Club from 2015 to 2017. Sangakkara is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He was a key part of the Sri Lankan squads which won the 2001-02 Asian Test Championship,2002 ICC Champions Trophy and 2014 T20 World Cup.
Deshamanya Arjuna Ranatunga,is a Sri Lankan politician and former cricketer,who was the 1996 Cricket World Cup winning captain for Sri Lanka,and scored the winning boundary in the final. He is regarded as the pioneer who lifted the Sri Lankan cricket team from underdog status to a leading force in the cricketing world.

Hettimulla Appuhamilage Shashikala Dedunu Siriwardene,known as Shashikala Siriwardene,is a Sri Lankan former cricketer who captained the Sri Lankan women's cricket team in WODIs. Deshabandu James Edward Herath Herald known as Harold Herath was a senior Sri Lankan politician and Cabinet Minister. Herath was most notably Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Ranasinghe Premadasa from 1991 to 1993. He entered Parliament winning the Nattandiya electorate in the Puttalam Electoral District 1977,and held his seat until 2000 retiring not contesting the 2001 parliamentary election. He has also held the portfolios of Minister of Justice and Minister of Coconut Development.
Atapattu Mudiyanselage Chamari Jayangani is a Sri Lankan cricketer and the current captain of the women's Twenty20 International team of Sri Lanka. Chamari was the tenth captain for Sri Lanka women's national cricket team. In November 2017,she was named the Women's Cricketer of the Year for the 2016–17 season at Sri Lanka Cricket's annual awards. She is the first Sri Lankan woman to play in franchise cricket. In November 2023,it was announced that a special dedicated seating zone at the Sydney Cricket Ground would be named after her as the Chamari Bay.
Ace Capital Cricket Club is a first-class cricket club based in Negombo,Sri Lanka. It was originally founded in 1989 as the Seeduwa/Raddoluwa Cricket Club. In 2011,it became the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club. The SLPA withdrew sponsorship in October 2020 and the club was renamed Ace Capital ahead of the 2020–21 season. As of 27 December 2024,Ace Capital is taking part in the Major League Tournament.

A pioneer artist in reality musical programs in Sri Lanka,she recorded the songs Midule Mal Sooriya Gaha Mudune,Igillila Yanna Yan and Ranabima Marune in a career that spanned more than six decades. She is one of the most prominent artists to originate from the Siriwardena family.
The Pakistan women's national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in April 1998. They played Sri Lanka in three One Day Internationals and one Test match,losing all four matches. The Test match was the first ever played in the format by either side,and the only one that has ever been played by Sri Lanka.
