The Chaplain-General of Prisons is the head of the Church of England's chaplaincy to prisons. He is also an ex officio member of the House of Clergy of the General Synod.

As such he or she is responsible for the disciplinary supervision of the clergy within the four deaneries making up the archdeaconry of Leeds. Until 2014, the post was in the Diocese of Ripon.
