Chapter III: Downfall is the third studio album by Swiss/German symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum, released by Napalm Records on 31 March 2023. [1]
The album received mostly positive reviews. Distorted Sound Magazine described the album "Heavily inspired by the history and mythology of Ancient Egypt, 'Chapter III - Downfall' is an album where every track is a potential single in waiting, it’s a lean, efficient and finely-tuned machine. It’s three-quarters-of-an-hour packed with pop choruses, bouncy rhythms and catchy melodies, with just the right amount of grit under the fingernails." [2]

The song is generally regarded as one of Metallica's most popular; by March 2018, it ranked number five on their live performance count. Several live albums and video albums include the song. In March 2023, Rolling Stone magazine ranked "For Whom the Bell Tolls" at number 39 on their "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Songs of All Time" list.

Ad Infinitum is a Swiss/German symphonic metal band. Originally a solo project of Swiss singer Melissa Bonny, it turned into a full band with arrival of drummer Niklas Müller, bassist Jonas Asplind and guitarist Adrian Theßenvitz. The band signed a deal with Napalm Records in July 2019 and released a debut album, Chapter I: Monarchy, in April 2020. In December 2020, Asplind announced he was leaving the band due to health issues, to be replaced by Korbinian Benedict as the new bassist.

The band released their debut album A Mind Waiting to Die in 2023, which they supported with performances at the 2000trees, Download, Reading & Leeds and Misery Loves Company festivals. Their second album, Who Are You When No One is Watching?, will be released on 12 July 2024.
