Charles Nwodo Jr. (born October 9, 1962) is a Nigerian entrepreneur. [1] [2] [3] [4] He is the chairman of XL Africa Group, a 6000-staff-member services group with operations in the West African sub-region, Europe, Asia and the United States of America. [5] [6] [7] He is also the founder of Centre for Entrepreneurship Knowledge Exchange, [2] [8] [9] and, Integrated Cash Management Services Limited, a cash processing firm. [10] [11] Nwodo is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers; [12] Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; and, International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA). [2] He is a recipient of the Distinguished service award by Rotary International. [13] Nwodo is the president of the Nsukka Professionals Association. [14] [15]
Nwodo was born on October 9, 1962, at Nsukka in Enugu State. [2] He hails from Ukehe in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. [2] He began primary education at Saint Peter's Primary School, Ukehe, in 1970; after the Civil War. When his father gained employment into the Nigerian Civil Service, his family moved to Nsukka, where Nwodo continued his primary education at Central School, Nsukka, graduating in 1974. [6] He attended the College of Immaculate Conception, Enugu, from 1974 to 1979. [6] In 1980, he gained admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he studied civil engineering. As an undergraduate, he served as the president of the students union government of the university (1983/84 session), with Olu Oguibe serving as his secretary general. [16] [17] He graduated in 1985. [2] In 1988, he earned his Master of Business Administration (Investment Management) from the University of Lagos. [13] He is also an alumnus of the Harvard business school, [2] [12] and the University of Geneva, Switzerland (where he earned Masters in Development Policies and Practices). [18] [13]
After obtaining his MBA, Nwodo trained as a stock broker and became a dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He worked as a stockbroker at M&M Securities Company, which Ws dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. [2] In 1997, Mr. Tony Elumelu invited him to join his team at Crystal Bank of Africa as the pioneer Chief Investment Officer. [19] The bank evolved into Standard Trust Bank and finally to United Bank for Africa (UBA). In 2003, he served as the executive director, Corporate Services for the United Bank for Africa. He left August of that year to found XL Management Services Limited, later renamed XL Africa Group, which offers some of the none-core banking services he had superintended in his last post. [12] [20] The XL Africa Group diversified into other sectors, aside the banking sector, notably the Integrated Cash Management Services (ICMS). Nwodo is the president of the Nsukka Professionals Association. [25] [26] [27] He is a Member, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (2020); [12] honorary fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (2004); and Association of Currency Affairs IACA. He is a recipient of the Distinguished service award by Rotary International; the Nigerian Economic Summit Group appreciation award; the award of Excellence and Outstanding leadership in Entrepreneurship, [28] and the portfolio of Management by New York Institute of Finance. [29] ; and, Nigeria LNG Ltd Production division safety award. [2] He is also a recipient of the ‘Starlite Business Icon’ award, [30] and the award of Excellence and Outstanding leadership in Entrepreneurship. [31]
The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded in 1955 by Nnamdi Azikiwe who was the Governor General of Nigeria between 1960 and 1963, and first President of Nigeria between 1963 and 1966. The University of Nigeria Nsukka was formally opened on 7 October 1960. The University of Nigeria has three campuses in Enugu State–Nsukka, Enugu, and Ituku-Ozalla – and the Aba campus in Abia State.

Akanu Ibiam International Airport, also known as Enugu Airport, is an airport serving Enugu, the capital city of Enugu State of Nigeria, and nearby cities, such as Abakaliki, Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, Afikpo, Okigwe, Nsukka, Ugep, Orlu, Idah, Otukpo and Ogoja. The airport was strategically located at Emene, which is the primary Industrial hub in Enugu, It is named after the late Akanu Ibiam (1906–1995), a medical doctor and statesman who hailed from Afikpo in Ebonyi State. The airport was closed on February 10, 2010, by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for the first phase of major renovation and expansion works. The airport was re-opened on 16 December 2010, but the second and third phase of the construction work were completed after that. It plays host to the Nigerian Air Force Base made up of The Ground Training Command, 405 Helicopter Combat Training Group, 541 Comms Group, 553 Base Services Group, and The International Helicopter Flying School. The airport is an international airport.

Samuel Maduka Onyishi was born in Nsukka, Enugu State, in November 1963 and is business from Enugu Northern extraction. Owing to the loss of his father in his first year in secondary school, an incidence that forced him to assume the role of pseudo breadwinner to his family consisting of his widowed mother and siblings. Dr. Sam Onyishi, as he is mostly called, attended the Enugu Road Primary School, Nsukka from 1971 to 1976 then was admitted into Bubendorf Grammar School, Adazi, in the present day Anambra State. He contemplated tearing his certificate, since education seemed to mean nothing then given his reality. But an encounter with a kinsman who was 2 years below him in primary school a few years later would make him change his view about education, he returned to school later in life. He got admission to do a Diploma Program at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, between 1993 – 1996 and later, a degree program from 1996 – 1999. He graduated with a Second Class Upper in Social works and Community development. He later got a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship from the Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning in the Doctoral Research Centre of the University of Arizona, Phoenix, in the United States.

Noel Ifeanyi Alumona is a special education expert working with Metro Nashville Public Schools, Tennessee. He is the founder of Hope for African Children, and also the Boys Champions, a nonprofit boy-child advocacy organization that partners with the UN Women and Nigeria's Ministry of Gender and Women Affairs. Alumona's work with his organization led to his being the first African recipient of the $10,000 American Field Service (AFS) Award for Young Global Citizens at the 2022 AFS Youth Assembly, part of the AFS Intercultural Programs. He is an Obama Foundation Fellow, United States Institute of Peace Fellow, and United Nations Youth Assembly Delegate. He was also shortlisted for the $100,000 Global Student Prize.
Emeka Mamah (Ideh) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and politician who served as commissioner for environment and mineral resources, Enugu State from 2018 to 2019, and commissioner for chieftaincy and rural development from 2020 to 2023. He also served as special adviser on transport to the governor of Enugu State in 2010. Mamah is the group managing director, Ifesinachi transport limited and a prince of the Ugbaike Kingdom of Igbo-Eze North LGA of Enugu State.
Nicholas Chika Ezeh is a Nigerian political economist, politician and entrepreneur. Ezeh wrote the commercialization proposal for the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex at Lagos in 1993. After the promulgation of Decree No. 68 of 1993 which gave birth to the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board (LITFCMB), he became a concessionaire of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex in 2007. He is the Founder of the Aulic Group of Companies which interests are Infrastructural Investment/Development and Economic Management. Ezeh was the first president of Sun-Rise Club of Inyi town in Enugu State, noted for noticeably developing the town. He is the President and Founder of the Institute of African Studies at the International Personnel Academy, Kiev- Ukraine. He was the acting national chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Nigeria. He is the National Deputy Chairman (South), Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Nigeria. Ezeh was Senatorial Candidate under Labour Party, Enugu West, during the 2011 Nigerian Senate elections in Enugu State, and also Senatorial Candidate under the All Progressives Congress party, Enugu West, during the 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Enugu State. He was awarded "honorary professor" by the Academic Council of the International Personnel Academy, Kiev- Ukraine on May 17, 2010.
