Charles Stankievech (born 1978) is a Canadian artist, writer, publisher and curator.
As a result of the wide spectrum of strategies and the conceptual drive behind the production, his work has been located in the Conceptual Art tradition (e.g. the exhibition Conceptual Filiations [1] ).
In 2007 he created and curated the Over The Wire project series that invites established artists to collaborate with students to produce new work under the restriction of long-distance communication. [2]
Stankievech participated in the Canadian Forces Artists Program twice, in 2011 and 2015. His 2012 35mm film installation The Soniferous Æther of the Land Beyond the Land Beyond was shot at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Alert and is part of a series of fieldworks he made that look at remote outpost architecture, military infrastructure, and the embedded landscape. Arthur Lismer, LL.D was an English-Canadian painter, member of the Group of Seven and educator. He is known primarily as a landscape painter and for his paintings of ships in dazzle camouflage.
Alexander Young Jackson LL.D. was a Canadian painter and a founding member of the Group of Seven. Jackson made a significant contribution to the development of art in Canada, and was instrumental in bringing together the artists of Montreal and Toronto. He helped found the Group of Seven in 1920. In addition to his work with the Group of Seven, his long career included serving as a War Artist during World War I (1917–19) and teaching at the Banff School of Fine Arts, from 1943 to 1949. In his later years he was artist-in-residence at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario.

Kazuo Nakamura was a Japanese-Canadian painter and sculptor and a founding member of the Toronto-based Painters Eleven group in the 1950s. Among the first major Japanese Canadian artists to emerge in the twentieth century, Nakamura created innovative landscape paintings and abstract compositions inspired by nature, mathematics, and science. The Yukon School of Visual Arts (SOVA) is Canada's most northerly post-secondary fine arts school, and it receives its accreditation through the Applied Arts Division of Yukon College. Kent Monkman is a Canadian First Nations artist of Cree ancestry. He is a member of the Fisher River band situated in Manitoba's Interlake Region. He is both a visual as well as performance artist, working in a variety of media such as painting, film/video, and installation. In the early 2000s, Monkman developed his gender-fluid alter ego, Miss Chief Eagle Testickle, who has since appeared in many of his works. He has had many solo exhibitions at museums and galleries in Canada, the United States, and Europe. He has achieved international recognition for his colourful and richly detailed combining of disparate genre conventions, and for his recasting of historical narrative.

Canadian official war artists create an artistic rendering of war through the media of visual, digital installations, film, poetry, choreography, music, etc., by showing its impact as men and women are shown waiting, preparing, fighting, suffering, celebrating.
