Charlestown Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located on St. Margaret's Road, Dublin, Ireland, north of Finglas village. [1] It opened in October 2007.
Dunnes Stores is the anchor tenant; other tenants include Sports Direct, Boots and Eddie Rocket's. [2]
Phase two of the shopping centre opened in October 2015. It consisted of a nine screen Odeon cinema, and a Leisureplex which includes bowling and Quasar facilities. Phase three consisted of 3 car showrooms and opened in 2019.[ citation needed ]
The shopping centre is served by Dublin Bus routes 9, 40/b, 83/a and 140 as well as Go-Ahead Ireland route N6.
A Luas extension has been proposed to serve the shopping centre, extended from the current Green Line terminus at Broombridge. [3] However, the project has failed to secure funding. [4]

Ballymun is an outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland, at the northern edge of the Northside, the green-field development of which began in the 1960s to accommodate a housing crisis in inner city areas of Dublin. While the newly built housing was state-of-the-art at the time, comprising high-rise tower blocks and flat complexes, residents were moved in years before shops, schools and other infrastructure were fully ready, and the area became well known for both a strong community spirit and considerable social challenges. It is one of Ireland's two largest shopping centres with over 131 shops, 47 restaurants, 3 amusement facilities and a cinema, retail floor space of 111,484 m2 (1,200,000 sq ft) and almost 140,000 m2 (1,500,000 sq ft) total floor space, and over 3,000 car parking spaces. It is located just south of the centre of the suburban village of Dundrum, within the wider eponymous area. It has annual footfall in excess of 18 million.
Transport 21 was an Irish infrastructure plan, announced in November 2005. Its aims were to greatly expand Ireland's transport network. A cost estimate of €34 billion was attached to the plan at the time.
The Green Line is one of the two lines of Dublin's Luas light rail system. The Green Line was formerly entirely in the south side of Dublin city. It mostly follows the route of the old Harcourt Street railway line, which was reserved for possible re-use when it closed in 1958. The Green Line allows for passengers to transfer at O’ Connell GPO and Marlborough to Luas Red Line services and also allows commuters to use Broombridge as an interchange station to reach outer suburbs such as Castleknock and Ongar as well as Iarnrod Éireann services.

Broombridge is a railway station beside a Luas Tram stop serving Cabra, Dublin 7, Ireland. It lies on the southern bank of the Royal Canal at the western end of what had been Liffey Junction station on the erstwhile Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR). It takes its name from Broome Bridge, which crosses the canal, where William Rowan Hamilton developed the mathematical notion of quaternions. A plaque on the adjacent canal bridge and the name of the Luas Maintenance depot on site, Hamilton Depot, commemorates this.
Ongar is an outer western suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Developed on a greenfield basis since 2001, it comprises the townlands of Castaheany (northerly) and "Hansfield or Phibblestown" (southerly), within the ancient Barony of Castleknock, County Dublin. It is close to Castleknock, Blanchardstown and Clonsilla. The development has a number of amenities on the main street, there are several schools in the area, and the nearby railway line at Hansfield railway station connects to the Luas Green Line and ultimately the N3 national route / M3 motorway. Employers in the nearby business parks and Greater Blanchardstown include Intel, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Kepak and eBay.

Citywest is a suburban development on the southwestern periphery of Dublin, originally developed as a "business campus." Citywest is situated in the southwest of the traditional County Dublin, in the jurisdiction of South Dublin County Council; the nearest major suburban centre is Tallaght, while the semi-suburban village of Saggart is adjacent.
