The Charlotte Purple Jackets, are an American basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and members in the minor professional The Basketball League (TBL).
On August 3, 2021, Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League (TBL), announced a new franchise called the Connecticut Cobras owned by Anthony Hill and would be located in Norwalk Connecticut. [1] Hill named Troy Bradford, the team's first head coach on August 24, 2022. [2]
The team announced that their home games would be played at the University of Bridgeport. [3]
On August 24, 2022, Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League (TBL), announced a new franchise called the Charlotte Purple Jackets would compete in the Southeast Conference. The Charlotte Purple Jackets team is a combination of the TBL's Connecticut Cobras team from last season and the Queen City Purple Jackets team that played in the 2021-22 American Basketball Association. The Albany Patroons are a professional basketball team that plays in The Basketball League (TBL). Previously, the team competed in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and in the United States Basketball League (USBL). The Patroons won CBA championships in 1984 and 1988 as well as a TBL championship in 2019. The team's name derives from patroon, the term for a large landholders in New Netherland, the Dutch colony that once included the Albany region.

The Raleigh Firebirds are an American professional basketball team based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a member of The Basketball League (TBL). For the 2019 season, their home games were played at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and Robert Brickey served as its head coach.Since then, the Firebirds have played ever year, with a spanning season from March to June. During their first inaugural season, the team went 13-1 at home, and reached the TBL Eastern Conference Finals. The Firebirds also had the number one overall pick in the 2019 TBL Draft, and selected Julian Harris. Harris would win Rookie of the Year, and go on to play basketball overseas.

The 2022 TBL season is the fifth season of The Basketball League (TBL). The league expanded from 29 teams in the 2021 season to 44. For the 2022 season, the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) announced that they had agreed to inter-league series play with several teams from The Basketball League. The games played between the teams from the two leagues are included in their respective regular season standings for each league.
The 2023 TBL season is the sixth season of The Basketball League (TBL). The league expanded from 44 teams in the 2022 season to over 50 in 2023. The National Basketball League of Canada once again will partner with The Basketball League in joint league expansion.
