Charlotte Reinhardt (born 25 November 1993) is a German rower who competes in international level events. She is a double World bronze medalist and a European champion, she competes in coxless four and eight. [1] [2] [3]
Christiane Köpke is a German rower who competed for East Germany. She won the Olympic gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics as well as four years later at the 1980 Summer Olympics. She was a member of SG Dynamo Potsdam / Sportvereinigung (SV) Dynamo.
Beate Schramm is a German rower and Olympic gold medallist. Between 1986 and 1991, she won four senior world championship titles, after having previously twice been junior world champion. She won gold at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the quad sculls event for East Germany, but missed the A final at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in the single sculls event when she competed for Germany. She was national rowing champion a total of six times; four times in East Germany and twice German champion after the reunification.
Daniela Neunast is a retired German coxswain. She competed in the eights at the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics and finished in first, third and eighth place, respectively. She also won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the world championships of 1985–1989.
Jana Sorgers is a German rower who was a dominant sculler of her time, starting her career for the East German rowing team and continuing after the German reunification for the combined Germany for a few more years. Between 1986 and 1996, she won two Olympic gold medals, seven world championship titles, and nine national titles. Rebecca Scown is a professional rower from New Zealand. Together with Juliette Haigh, she won the bronze medal in the women's coxless pair at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Previously they had won gold in the women's pair at the World Rowing Cup regatta in Lucerne, 2010 and at the 2010 World Rowing Championships at Lake Karapiro and the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled. Sybille Reinhardt is a German rower. At the East Germany rowing championships in July 1974, she was the youngest winner of one of the national titles at age 16; she won the double scull partnered with Christine Scheiblich. She has competed under her married name since 1980.
Emma Kimberley Twigg is a New Zealand rower. A single sculler, she was the 2014 world champion and won gold in her fourth Olympics in Tokyo in July 2021. Previous Olympic appearances were in 2008, 2012, and 2016. She has retired from rowing twice, first for master-level studies in Europe in 2015 and then after the 2016 Olympics, disappointed at having narrowly missed an Olympic medal for the second time. After two years off the water, she started training again in 2018 and won silver at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. Since her marriage in 2020, she has become an outspoken advocate for LGBT athletes. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Twigg won gold in the woman's single scull. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, Twigg won Silver in the same event.
Tina Manker is a German rower. She was junior world champion in 2006, U23 world championship, and world champion in the women's quad sculls elite class at the 2011 World Championships. She finished her rowing career after participating at the 2012 Summer Olympics in double scull. She trained as a teacher in German and English, first at the Humboldt University of Berlin and then at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. After several years teaching at Onslow College, where she also coached the rowing team, she now works for High Performance Sport New Zealand in Cambridge.

Christoph Korte is a German former rower and geochemist. He competed in the men's coxed four event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. At the World Cup in Tasmania, Australia in 1990, he won the championship in the class of men's 8+, and the year before he won a bronze medal in the class 4+. 1999 Korte earned his PhD in Geology from the Ruhr-University Bochum and is currently an Associate Professor in Geology at Copenhagen University. His research is focused on palaeoclimatology and geochemistry.
Charlotte Ruby L. Hodgkins-Byrne is a British rower who competes in international level events. She is the younger sister of World Rowing Championships bronze medalist Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne.
Lisa Höpink is a German swimmer, who competed in the 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay and 4 × 100 metre medley relay events at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won two medals at the 2019 Summer Universiade, and three medals at the 2014 European Junior Swimming Championships.
The 2025 FISU Summer World University Games, officially known as the XXXII Summer World University Games and also known as Rhine-Ruhr 2025, is a multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 16 to 27 July 2025, in five cities in Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region and Berlin as an outlying venue in Germany. The region previously hosted the 1989 Summer Universiade in Duisburg, who also host sports during these games.
