Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of the "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful" poetry of Gitanjali, he became in 1913 the first non-European and the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Tagore's poetic songs were viewed as spiritual and mercurial; however, his "elegant prose and magical poetry" remain largely unknown outside Bengal. He was a fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society. Referred to as "the Bard of Bengal", Tagore was known by sobriquets: Gurudeb, Kobiguru, Biswokobi.

Bhajahari Mukhujjee, commonly known as Tenida or Teni, is a fictional native of Potoldanga in Calcutta, who appears in a number of short stories and larger works of the Bengali author Narayan Gangopadhyay. The leader of a group of four young lads who lived in the neighbourhood of Potoldanga, Tenida was depicted as the local big-mouthed airhead, who, although not blessed with academic capabilities, was admired and respected by the other three for his presence of mind, courage, and honesty as well as his vociferous appetite. Descriptions of Tenida's nose also make frequent appearances in the text, being described as "a large nose resembling Mount Mainak". The narrator of the stories is Pyalaram, who seemed to share his leader's frailty in academic exertions. The other two characters who formed an integral part of the quartet were Habul Sen, who speaks with strong East Bengali accent (Dhakai) and Kyabla, the cleverest among the four.
Monoranjan Bhattacharya, nicknamed Mona, is a retired Indian professional footballer and football manager. During his playing career, he represented the "Big Two" of Kolkata football, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He also represented India in various international tournaments between 1978 and 1989.

Dotara is an action-drama Bengali film directed by Amitabha Dasgupta and produced by Tapasi Dasgupta Communication. The film starring an ensemble of Subrat Dutta, Rajesh Sharma, Snigdha Pandey, Sonalee Chaudhuri, Dipankar Dey, Biswajit Chakraborty, Suman Banerjee, Pradip Bhattacharya and Swantana Basu, explores the idea of identity crisis among a small community of people settled in the north-eastern part of West Bengal. The film was theatrically released on 11 January 2019.

Ambarish Bhattacharya is a Bengali actor and comedian. He started his career through performing at Bengali theatre and stage. He made his television debut in the 2007 playing the character Gaja in Raja & Gaja. He has acted in numerous TV soap operas and Bengali films.
Tenida and Co. is an upcoming Bengali adventure comedy film directed by Sayantan Ghosal based on the novel Jhau Bungalowr Rahasya by Narayan Gangopadhyay. This is the third film of Tenida series and Kanchan Mullick is playing the role of main protagonist, Tenida.
