Kanchan Mullick is an Indian Bengali film and television actor and politician. In addition to the television show Janata Express, [3] Kanchan has also acted in movies like Mahakaal and Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona . [4] He is also a Bengali theatre artist. He has worked in the theatre group Swapnasandhani. Mullick is the current MLA from the Uttarpara constituency. He won the seat as an All India Trinamool Congress candidate in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. [5]

Controversy

Mullick married Sreemoyee Chattoraj on 14 February 2024, [20] but during the traditional ceremony on 6 March, an invitation card was widely circulated to social media that press, security personnel and drivers were not allowed to enter there. This was highly criticised in the media. [21] Later Mullick apologized to all. [22] [23]

Dracula Sir is a 2020 Indian Bengali language, neo noir psychological thriller, non-linear structured film directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya and produced by Shrikant Mohata and Mahendra Soni under the banner of SVF. The film starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Mimi Chakraborty, Bidipta Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh, Samiul Alam, Kanchan Mullick, Supriyo Dutta follows the story of a school teacher with a protruding pair of canine teeth, called "Dracula Sir". Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei, also known by the initialism SBSKN, is an upcoming 2025 Indian Bengali-language legal thriller film written and directed by Srijit Mukherji. The film is an official adaptation of the 1989 Hindi film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, which is itself a remake of the American film 12 Angry Men (1957) directed by Sidney Lumet, which was an adaptation from a 1954 teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose. Produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, it stars an ensemble cast of Kaushik Ganguly, Parambrata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Ritwick Chakraborty, Anirban Chakrabarti, Ananya Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, Rahul Banerjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Kanchan Mullick, Phalguni Chatterjee and Suhotro Mukhopadhyay.
