Mirakkel is an Indian reality show on Zee Bangla hosted by Mir Afsar Ali and directed by Subhankar Chattopadhyay. It is produced by Subhankar Chattopadhyay Productions. The show features stand-up comedians who are judged by Paran Bandyopadhyay, Sreelekha Mitra and Rajatava Dutta. The band Bandage, with musicians Dwaipayan Saha, Nitin Mani, Suman Sinha, Subhajit Sarkar, Koushik and Saurav Bhattacharya, is responsible for the music. Kanchan Mullick is an Indian Bengali film and television actor and politician. In addition to the television show Janata Express, Kanchan has also acted in movies like Mahakaal and Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. He is also a Bengali theatre artist. He has worked in the theatre group Swapnasandhani. Mullick is an All India Trinamool Congress candidate at Uttarpara constituency in 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, and has won the seat.
Byomkesh was a 2014 Indian Bengali crime fiction television series based on the Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The series starred Gaurav Chakrabarty, Saugata Bandyopadhyay and Ridhima Ghosh as Byomkesh Bakshi, Ajit and Satyabati respectively. The series premiered on 20 November 2014 on Colors Bangla channel and ended on 14 November 2015. The first episode was narrated by Sabyasachi Chakrabarty.
Shubho Drishti was a popular Bengali television soap opera. It premiered on 1 January 2018. It aired on Colors Bangla. It starred Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Aishwarya Sen in lead roles and Bidipta Chakraborty and Sukanya Goswami in a negative role. The show was produced by Shibaji Panja of Vandana Films and Enterprises. Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta played cameo roles in this serial.
Shah Jahan Regency is an Indian Bengali drama film directed by Srijit Mukherji, under the banner of SVF Entertainment Pvt Ltd, starring Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Anirban Bhattacharya, Swastika Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh and Rittika Sen while Rituparna Sengupta and Babul Supriyo appear in Guest appearances. The movie, based on the popular novel Chowringhee by Mani Shankar Mukherjee, was released on 18 January 2019.
Netaji is a Bengali biographical soap opera on the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose that premiered on 14 January 2019 and aired on Bengali GEC Zee Bangla. Based majorly on Udyata Kharga Subhash by Achintya Kumar Sengupta and produced by Surinder Films, the series stars Abhishek Bose in the eponymous role, with Basabdatta Chatterjee, marking her comeback on television, Dhruvajyoti Sarkar, Kaushik Chakraborty, Sriparna Roy, Debopriyo Sarkar, Sohan Bandopadhyay, Fahim Mirza appearing in other recurring roles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting of the series was stalled. It was rumoured that along with Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni, this series will be axed the channel. Putting rest to such rumours, the shooting started from June 11, maintaining all safety protocols and fresh episodes started to air from June 15, 2020.
Byomkesh is a Bengali streaming television series based on the Byomkesh Bakshi character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. Set in the 1930s, the series is based on the adventures of Byomkesh, and his friend and biographer Ajit, who usually accompanies Bakshi during his investigations. Anirban Bhattacharya portrays the lead role of Byomkesh, with Subrat Dutta in the role of Byomkesh's trusted friend-turned-aide, Ajit. The first episode premiered on Saturday, 14 October 2017, being the first Byomkesh series to be available on OTT platform hoichoi worldwide.
Satyanweshi Byomkesh is a 2019 Bengali detective thriller featuring the iconic sleuth Byomkesh, played by Parambrata Chatterjee. The film is a murder mystery directed by Sayantan Ghosal, produced by Greentouch Entertainment and bankrolled by Shyam Sundar Dey and Tanmoy Banerjee based on the story "Magna Mainak" by Saradindu Bandhopadhyay. The film released on 2 October 2019. A sequel titled Durgo Rahasya is announced.
Paap is an Indian Bengali-language family drama-murder mystery directed by Anupam Hari which started streaming on popular Bengali OTT platform hoichoi from 2 October 2019. The series stars Puja Banerjee who made her debut in Bengali web series through this web series. The series also features Saheb Bhattacharya, Solanki Roy, Rahul Banerjee, Ishani Das, Rajat Ganguly, Bhaswar Chattopadhyay, Rupsa Dasgupta, Priyanka Mondal, Indrajit Chakraborty in the key roles. Durga Puja is the most important festival for Bengalis, where all the family members meet and enjoy this precious festival together. The actual meaning of the Bengali word ‘Paap’ is ‘Sin’. The series is based on an ancient Durga Puja celebration of a family, where all members and relatives of the family have come to become a part of the celebration. Meanwhile, an unwanted guest comes who had a mysterious past life and have some long-kept secrets about the family. At the same time, two dead bodies are discovered in the house and the puja house becomes a crime scene and there are many mysteries to unveil.
Rahasya Romancha is a Bengali web series. Initially conceived as a thriller movie, it was turned into a web series, streaming on the Bengali OTT platform Hoichoi. It is produced by Edgy Entertainment and directed by Abhirup Ghosh. Season 1 was released in August 2019, with Priyanka Sarkar, Rudranil Ghosh, Kanchan Mullick, Saayoni Ghosh and Biswanath Basu in the lead roles.
Dracula Sir is a 2020 Indian Bengali language, Film Noir psychological thriller, non-linear structured film directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya and the film produced by Shrikant Mohata and Mahendra Soni under the banner of SVF. The film starring by Anirban Bhattacharya, Mimi Chakraborty, Bidipta Chakraborty,Rudranil Ghosh,Samiul Alam,Kanchan Mullick,Supriyo Dutta follows the story of a school teacher with a protruding pair of canine teeth, called "Dracula Sir".The film was based on a school teacher who was a Naxalite in his past life.
Prothoma Kadambini was an Indian Bengali television biographical period drama based on the biography of the first practising female physician of British-ruled India and South Asia, Doctor Kadambini Ganguly. The show was aired on Bengali General Entertainment Channel Star Jalsha and is also available on digital platform Hotstar, that was premiered on 16 March 2020. The show is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and starred by Solanki Roy and Honey Bafna in lead roles. The show went to off-air on 28 February 2021.
Damayanti is a Bengali television-series released on Bengali OTT platform Hoichoi on 22 October 2020. On season 4 announcement Hoichoi announced their upcoming twenty-five web series, Damayanti based on the story of Manoj Sen is one of them. Directed by Aritra Sen and Rohan Ghosh the series features Tuhina Das, Indrasish Roy, Soumya Banerjee, Chandrayee Ghosh, Amrita Chattopadhyay in the lead roles. Second season of this series titled Nokol Heere released on 2021.
Mouchaak is a Bengali web series on OTT platform Hoichoi. It is a dark humour series directed by Sayantan Ghosal and produced by Missing Screw Productions. The cast includes Monami Ghosh, making her web series debut as Mou Boudi, Kanchan Mallick, Sourav Chatterjee, Ujan Chatterjee, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Debapriyo Mukherjee, Apratim Chatterjee, and Jammy Banerjee.
