Durban is the third-most populous city in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Cape Town, and the largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Situated on the east coast of South Africa, on the Natal Bay of the Indian Ocean, Durban is South Africa's busiest port and was formerly named Port Natal. North of the harbour and city centre lies the mouth of the Umgeni River; the flat city centre rises to the hills of the Berea on the west; and to the south, running along the coast, is the Bluff. Durban is the seat of the larger eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which spans an area of 2,556 km2 (987 sq mi) and had a population of 4.2 million in 2022, making the metropolitan population one of Africa's largest on the Indian Ocean. Within the city limits, Durban's population was 595,061 in 2011. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, wet summers and mild, dry winters.
The Minority Front (MF) is a political party in South Africa. The party represents all minorities of South Africa, however, its support comes mainly from the South African Indian community. Its voter base is in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. The eThekwini district (Durban) is the cultural and demographic centre of South Africa's Indian community. The party was founded in 1993 and led by Amichand Rajbansi until his death in December 2011.

The club was founded in July 2003, when the businessman Phindani Nene acquired the Castle League franchise of the National First Division club Moja United from Pietermaritzburg, and thereby established his new club Durban Stars FC, directly into the second level of South African football. The club played at that level from 2003–09, before being relegated to Vodacom League.
African Wanderers is a South African professional football club, based in the Chatsworth township, which is a suburb of Durban in South Africa. The club currently play in the KwaZulu-Natal province of Vodacom League, and prefer to use the SJ Smith Stadium as home venue.

Nedbank Cup is a South African club football (soccer) tournament. The knockout tournament, based on the English FA Cup format, carries a 'David versus Goliath' theme. The competition was sponsored by ABSA until 2007, after which Nedbank took over sponsorship.

The tournament began on 4 August 2009, and ended on 24 October 2009. Golden Arrows beat Ajax Cape Town 6 – 0, in the final at Orlando Stadium.
Moruleng Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the village of Moruleng, a small mining community located approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) from Rustenburg in the North West Province, South Africa. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Platinum Stars. The stadium was part of Rustenburg's World Cup 2010 host city proposals and was also used as a training venue for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.

It is currently used mostly for football matches, and was the home venue of Durban Stars and African Wanderers during the 2010-11 season of Vodacom League.
The 2010 Telkom Knockout was a football (soccer) knockout competition which comprised the 16 teams in the South African Premier Soccer League. It was the 19th tournament, and the fifth under the Telkom Knockout name. The tournament is effectively South Africa's league cup, as entry is open only to clubs in the top league. The cup is usually played in the first half of the season. The tournament began on 23 October, and it ended on 4 December 2010. Kaizer Chiefs won their 9th title, by defeating Orlando Pirates 3–0 in the final at Soccer City.
Stellenbosch Football Club is a professional football club based in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Founded in 2016 following the relocation of Vasco da Gama FC to Stellenbosch, the club is the first Premier Soccer League team from the Cape Winelands region and was promoted to the DStv Premiership in 2019.
