Chess at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games was the first SEA Games tournament since the 2013 edition in Naypyidaw. Chess will feature seven team events. Among these events are men's and women's blitz, rapid and standard while other categories such as bullet, lightning, armageddon and the Asian chess are also under consideration for inclusion. The National Chess Federation of the Philippines originally planned to host individual events but scrapped such plans. [1] Chess is being held from 1 to 8 December 2019. [2]

The 2019 Southeast Asian Games, officially the 30th SEA Games, known as the 30th Southeast Asian Games, and commonly known as Philippines 2019, was the 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial regional multi-sport event which was held in the Philippines from 30 November to 11 December 2019. However, due to a narrow calendar, some sports started before the opening ceremony as early as November 24.

Philippines at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Sporting event delegation

The Philippines competed at the 30th Southeast Asian Games which was hosted by them from 30 November to 11 December 2019. This was the fourth time that the country hosted the biennial meet. The country placed 1st again in the medal tally with 149 gold medals, 36 higher than the 23rd SEA Games in 2005 wherein the Philippines also hosted and placed 1st and 51 higher than Vietnam.

2020 ASEAN Para Games 10th ASEAN Para Games

The 2020 ASEAN Para Games, officially known as the X ASEAN Para Games, and commonly known as Philippines 2020, is a cancelled biannual multi-sport event for athletes with physical disabilities which was intended to be held from 3 to 9 October 2020 in the Philippines, it was planned to be held after the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. Participants were expected from 11 countries in Southeast Asia. The games, patterned after the Paralympics, was to include athletes with various disabilities.

Esports at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines was held at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, Metro Manila from 5 to 10 December 2019. It was the first esports contest as a medal event in a multi-sport competition sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee after the discipline featured as a demonstration sport at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Football at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games

Football at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games were held across three venues in the Philippines; the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, Laguna, and the City of Imus Grandstand, Imus for the men's tournament. The women's tournament was held in Manila and Biñan.
