Zhansaya Abdumalik is a Kazakhstani chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM). She is the first Kazakhstani woman, and the 39th woman overall, to earn the GM title. Abdumalik has a peak FIDE rating of 2505 and has been ranked as high as No. 11 in the world among women. Abdumalik has been a two-time girls' World Youth Champion as well as a girls' World Junior Champion. She is also a two-time Kazakhstani women's national champion, and has represented Kazakhstan in women's events at the Chess Olympiad, World Team Chess Championship, and the Asian Nations Chess Cup. On April 20, 2022, Zhansaya became the President of the Almaty Chess Federation.

Vladislav Mikhailovich Artemiev is a Russian chess grandmaster and former chess prodigy. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 2014. Artemiev is the 2019 European champion. He won the individual board performance gold medal as well as team gold medal at World Team Chess Championship 2019. He participated in Chess World Cup 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 where he was knocked out in the round of 16 by Sergey Karjakin.

Field hockey at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games will be held from 23 June to 8 July 2023 at Estadio Del Parque El Este in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Due to infrastructure and calendar issues, the field hockey event was relocated from San Salvador, El Salvador to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

The speed skating competition at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games will held at Patinódromo El Polvorín in San Salvador, El Salvador from 23 to 26 June.

The shooting competition at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games is going to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador from 25 June to 4 July and were held at the Polígono Estadio Jorge "El Mágico" González. The skeet and trap competitios will be held from 4 to 7 July at the Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte at the in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
