The San Jose State Spartans are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent San José State University. SJSU sports teams compete in the Mountain West Conference at the NCAA Division I level, with football competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
The football tournament at the 1935 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in San Salvador from 24 March to 3 April. The tournament was the second association football tournament held at the Central American and Caribbean Games, with the first tournament being held in 1930 in Havana. All matches were held at the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca.

Xhunashi Caballero is a Mexican karateka. She won a silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and she repeated this at the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2019, she won one of the bronze medals in the women's kumite 61 kg event at the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru.
The 2021 Sudamérica Rugby Sevens was the 15th edition of the Sudamérica Sevens. It was held in San José, Costa Rica from 27–28 November. It was a qualifier for the 2022 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Chile and 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in South Africa. Uruguay and Chile were the two teams that qualified as winner and runner-up.
