Chimaobi Clark Mbataku better known as De Clark is a Nigerian entertainment businessman, CEO, and founder of the media and entertainment company Dream Empire Media & Entertainment LTD (operating as Dream Empire Group), the mother company of Nigerian record label Dream Empire Music. [1] He was the executive producer of Majeeed's EPs Bitter Sweet and Cheers To Life. .

Career

Clark began his career as a businessman and ventured into the entertainment business in 2014 following the establishment of his imprint DC Records. In 2020, he rebranded DC Records into a 360-Entertainment company and began operating as Dream Empire Music, with the aim to help young talent. [2] In the same year, he announced the signing of its first recording acts: Verchi, and F2. [2] In 2021, De Clark unveiled Majeeed, and Lisa Viola, as the label newest signing to join its artist roster, following the departure of F2. [3]

In 2023, De Clark partnered with Ghazi Shami's Empire Distribution company to expand Majeeed's career into the global market. [4]

Dream Empire Music

In 2014, De Clark founded DC Records and began promoting musical talents. In 2020, the music company rebranded to Dream Empire Music and began operating as a record label with the sole aim of helping young talents accomplish their dreams. The label gained mainstream with its artist Majeeed in 2022, following the success of "Yawa No Dey End" which peaked at number 41 on the Nigeria Top Songs chart, and its second extended play Cheers To Life. , which peaked at number 37 on the Nigeria Top Albums chart.

Bitter Sweet is built around the early life of a Nigerian teen, transiting into an early adult. The album is a mixture of Afrofusion, and Afropop, with R&B, and Soul percussive rhythms. It was produced primarily by Majeeed, along with production from Dalor Beats, Hulla, Shugavybz, Blaise Beatz, and Mr Kleb. The EP received favorable reviews from critics.

Cheers To Life. is the second debut extended play by Nigerian singer-songwriter Majeeed. It was released on 7 September 2023 by Dream Empire Music, and EMPIRE. It was described by Daily Times, as a musical expression of gratitude, growth, and positive energy with an organic feel of Afrobeat. The EP is a mixture of Afrofusion, and Afropop, with R&B, and Soul percussive rhythms.
