Chinenye Nworah also known as Chichi Nworah is a Nigerian media entrepreneur and film producer. [1] She is the founder of Giant Creative Media. She is best known for being an executive producer and producer of Shanty Town, a Netflix original series released in January 2023 [2] [3] and Slum King, AMVCA 2024 Best MNET original series. [4] [5]

Early life

Chinenye Nworah is the second child in a family of four. She was born in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. [6] She is originally from Nsukka, Enugu State. She attended Federal Government Girls College Nsukka, Enugu State. Nworah attended Lagos State University where she studied Computer Science. She attended the New York Film Academy. She is currently pursuing her degree in United States. [7]

Career

Nworah started her professional career as a content acquisition manager with Ibaka TV, from where she moved to start her production company Giant Creative Media. [7] She has produced So in Love, which was her first movie in 2015. She went on to create tv series and produce films. She later co-founded a television station (Premium Box-office Television, PBO TV, [8] which airs on Star Times Networks across Africa. [9] She is also a recipient of the Eko Star Film TV awards for her contributions to Eko arts and tourism. [10] In 2016, she was named City People's Award best producer of the year. [6] Shanty Town received 11 nominations at the Africa Movie Critics Awards AMVCA9, and was nominated in 15 out of 29 categories at the Best of Nigeria BON Awards.

In 2023, her series Shanty Town was the most watched TV series in Nigeria and second most watched in Africa according to Premium Times. [11]
