Chintia Kirana is a Chinese Indonesian born American artist. She is best known for her abstract and minimalistic work exploring identity, passage of time and spirituality. Her art practice includes curatorial projects which are socially engaged in the community arts. [1]
Kirana was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She received a bachelor's degree in painting from Auburn University Montgomery and an MFA in painting and drawing from Southern Illinois University. [2]
She served as the art director for the 2024 Indonesian film The Architecture of Love . [3]
Kirana's projects often explore themes of collective identity which are marked by collaboration and active participation. [4]

Kirana was a visual arts teacher at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. Currently, Kirana serves as one of the board of trustees of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. [6]
Kirana is the founder of Expose Art, an art magazine, and ArtHouse, an artist-run arts residency. She was also a co-founder of "Montgomery Arts Projects" (MAP). [7] She participated in the Little Amal Walk With Amal US Tour project in Montgomery, Alabama. [8]
