He began his musical career in 1993 upon signing with Birdman's Cash Money Records at the age of 12. Dorsey and label-mates Lil Wayne, Juvenile and Turk collectively formed the group Hot Boys in 1997, with whom he has released three commercially successful albums. As a solo act, Dorsey has released five solo albums for Cash Money—Chopper City (1996), It's All on U, Vol. 1 (1997), It's All on U, Vol. 2 (1997), the platinum-certified Chopper City in the Ghetto (1999) and Checkmate (2000)—to moderate success. He parted ways with the label in 2001 and founded Chopper City Records later that year.

Two years later his follow up, Lil' Chopper Toy was released. A major label bidding war ensued, garnering the young MC a multimillion-dollar deal with Epic Records. He was signed with Koch Records, and released his first mainstream album, A-Town Secret Weapon, on April 29, 2008. Three years later, in 2011, Baby D signed with Mizay Entertainment.

The Chopper City Boyz was a New Orleans-based rap group signed to rapper B.G.'s Chopper City Records. The group was formed in 2003 consisting of B.G.'s younger brother Hakizzle, Gar and Snipe, then VL Mike became an addition to the group in early 2004. The group had been featured on B.G.'s solo albums as well as several mixtapes between 2003 and 2006. The group released their debut album with B.G. titled We Got This in 2007, spawning the single "Make 'Em Mad", which was produced by David Banner. The group did exceptionally well for being on an independent record label, Koch Records, selling 36,000 in their first week on the chart.

He played college football for the LSU Tigers, receiving All-American honors twice and earning recognition as the top college defensive player of the 2007 season. The album has production from DJ Smurf, Sinista, Dani Kartel, Da Architeks, K.I.D.D., KLC, and more. The album features the singles "My World I Want It & "Hold That Thought". There are guest appearances from the Chopper City Boyz, T.I. and Ying Yang Twins.
Livin' Legend is the sixth studio album and the first album by American rapper B.G. since departing from Cash Money Records and is also his first release under his own imprint Chopper City Records. The album contains production from Kenoe, K.I.D.D., Clinton Sparks, and Beat Doctor. B.G. also introduces his artists, Gar, Hakizzle and Snipe to the world. "Let It Flow", "Keep It Gangsta", and "Fuck You" were released on vinyl. A music video for "Keep It Gangsta" and "Hottest of the Hot" was released in summer 2003. It is the first B.G. album not to feature any production from Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh.

It was first scheduled for an August 26 release but was pushed back and released on September 16, 2008. The first single off the album is "Bubblegum", which was produced by Joe the CEO.

MNRK Music Group was known as Koch Records from its founding in 1987 until 2009 and eOne Music from 2009 to 2021. In its early years, the record label signed many country, classical and rock acts, including artists Ringo Starr, Joan Baez, Chris Brubeck and Bob James. Anthony Boswell, head of Bout It Bout It Management, served as the vice president of operations as well as head of management for the label.
MNRK Music Group, formerly known as Koch Records and Entertainment One (eOne) Music/Records, is an American independent record label and music management company based in New York City. It was formed in 1987 as a music division of Koch Entertainment, which was acquired by and absorbed into Entertainment One in 2004. eOne was acquired by toy and multimedia company Hasbro in 2019, absorbed its family brands division in the process and announced the sale of this division to The Blackstone Group in April 2021, which then adopted this name. Hasbro then sold the remains of eOne to Lionsgate, who then rebranded it initially as eOne Canada and then Lionsgate Canada.
Sqad Up was an American hip hop group from New Orleans, Louisiana. The group originally consisted of Southern rappers Lil Wayne, Gudda Gudda, Kidd Kidd, T-Streets, Raw Dizzy, Young Yo, Sha Tura, Fee Banks, and Supa Blanco, with Raj Smoove as the in-house producer. In 2004, Sqad Up released their debut album Now or Never on their independent label Money Yung'N Records.
