Christopher William Dalman (born March 15, 1970) is a former professional American football player who played offensive lineman for seven seasons for the San Francisco 49ers from 1993 to 2000.
Dalman was born March 15, 1970, in Salinas, California to William Dalman and Janet (Johnson) Dalman. He was an offensive/defensive tackle for Palma High School in Salinas, graduating in 1988. He was a four-year football letter-winner at Stanford University. Dalman is notable in that he is one of the few players to successfully undergo spinal fusion and return to the playing field, having undergone the surgery between his sophomore and junior years at Stanford. [1] While an undergraduate at Stanford he became a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. [2] He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1992.
Drafted in the sixth round (166th overall) in the 1993 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Dalman started 64 games in seven seasons with the 49ers. [3] [4] He first started all 16 regular season games in 1996. [5] He was part of the Super Bowl XXIX Champion team in 1995. [6]
After playing in the National Football League, he went back to Palma in 2001 to become an assistant football coach and English teacher. [7] After a stint as the assistant offensive line coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2005 to 2006, he became the offensive line coach and running game coordinator at Stanford until resigning in January 2009 to become varsity offensive line coach at Palma and the Director of Admissions. Dalman currently is the president of Palma School in Salinas, California, [9] appointed July 2020. He was most recently assistant principal and dean of students at the school from 2015 to 2020.
Dalman is married to Yanne, an elementary school teacher.
They have two children, Kate and Drew. [7] Drew played football at Palma School and Stanford University. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL draft. [10] Kate is the operations and recruiting assistant for the Stanford football program. [11]
William Ernest Walsh was an American professional and college football coach. He served as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and the Stanford Cardinal, during which time he popularized the West Coast offense. After retiring from the 49ers, Walsh worked as a sports broadcaster for several years and then returned as head coach at Stanford for three seasons.
Jeremy David Newberry is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 1998 NFL draft. He was born in Antioch, California, and played college football for the California Golden Bears.

Chris Palmer is an American former football coach and college athletics administrator. Palmer served as the head coach for Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) from 1999 to 2000 and in the same capacity with the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League (UFL) in 2010. He was the head football coach at the University of New Haven from 1986 to 1987 and at Boston University from 1988 to 1989. Palmer has also served as an assistant coach with the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans and the Buffalo Bills of the NFL. He later returned to the University of New Haven and served as the athletic director from 2018 to 2019.
Troy McHenry Walters is an American football coach and former player who is the wide receivers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). Walters played as a wide receiver and punt returner in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons. Walters played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, earning consensus All-American honors and winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the season’s outstanding college football receiver. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, and also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions of the NFL.
Kyle Michael Shanahan is an American football coach who is the head coach for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He came to prominence as the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons, whose offense in 2016 led the league in points scored and helped the team reach Super Bowl LI. Shanahan became the head coach of the 49ers the following season, whom he has led to three division titles, four postseason appearances, four NFC Championship Game appearances, and two Super Bowl appearances.
Andrew Robert Heck is an American football coach and former player. He is the offensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. He played tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons. He was drafted in the 1989 NFL Draft with the 15th overall selection in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks He played college football at the University of Notre Dame. He also played for the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins.

Peter K. Mangurian is an American football coach and former player. He was formerly the tight ends coach for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL and Offensive line coach for the San Antonio Brahmas. Mangurian has been a longtime assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL) as a tight end coach, offensive line coach, and offensive coordinator. He has coached in two Super Bowls and two Pro Bowls and numerous playoff appearances during his tenure as an NFL coach. Mangurian also was the head football coach at Cornell University from 1998 to 2000 and at Columbia University from 2012 to 2014.
Tavita Pritchard is an American football coach who is the quarterbacks coach for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, with his 2007 victory over the USC Trojans being cited among the biggest upsets in college football history. He entered coaching as a graduate assistant with Stanford in 2010. After having various assistant roles, he was named offensive coordinator in 2018 and held that position until leaving to join the Commanders in 2023.
Christopher Flyn Foerster is an American football coach who is the run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). Previously, he worked for the Dolphins as their offensive coordinator in 2004.
Christopher Joseph Scelfo is an American football coach. He was most recently the offensive line coach for the DC Defenders of the XFL. He was the offensive line coach and run-game coordinator for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football, having previously served in a similar position with the Houston Cougars and Charlotte 49ers. He previously served as the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He served as head coach at Tulane from 1998 to 2006, including in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and amassed a 37–57 record.
