Chris Gearing (born 11 December 1986) is a British strongman competitor, notable for having won the England's Strongest Man title and having competed at the World's Strongest Man.
Chris Gearing was born in Chatham, Kent. He was athletic as a child and at the age of 13 started training in Shot Put going on to compete in the World Under 18s, World Juniors, European Juniors, and winning a silver and a bronze at the Commonwealth Games under 19's in Australia. When he was 23 he began powerlifting and won British titles and came second in the World Junior 140 kg+ category. The next year he began training specifically for Strongman. He was also guided in his training by Steve Winters and Paul Woods (the ex UK 105 kg champion).
In 2009 he placed second in Britain's Most Powerful Man, and also came second in the UK Team Championships with Jay Hughes. However, it was not until 2012 that he began to make impression in the blue ribbon events of British strength athletics. In 2012 he secured a 3rd place finish behind World's Strongest Man competitors Laurence Shahlaei and Terry Hollands at Britain's Strongest Man and he went on to win the UKSC sponsored England's Strongest Man title. He then emulated his BSM performance at the UK's Strongest Man by finishing third once more. HIs placing at Britain's Strongest Man qualified him for the World's Strongest Man finals in 2012. He competed at WSM, though did not make it past the qualifying rounds.
As a weightlifter his best lifts are 400 kg in the Deadlift, he has Log Pressed 170 kg and he also completed a 385 kg Squat in competition. [1]
Magnús Ver Magnússon is an Icelandic former powerlifter and strongman competitor. He is a four-time World's Strongest Man, having won in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest strongmen of all time.
The World's Strongest Man is an international Strongman competition held every year. Organized by American event management company IMG, a subsidiary of Endeavor, it is broadcast in the US during summers and in the UK around the end of December each year. Competitors qualify based on placing in the top three at the four to eight Giants Live events each year.

Mark Felix is a Grenadian-English strongman competitor and regular entrant to the World's Strongest Man competition. He has competed at a record 17 World's Strongest Man contests, and has won numerous international grip contests, including the Rolling Thunder World Championships in 2008 and 2009, as well as the Vice Grip Viking Challenge in 2011 and 2012. Having competed in over 100 international competitions throughout 19 years, Felix is the 3rd most prolific strongman contestant in history.
Strength athletics in the United Kingdom and Ireland has a long history going back many centuries before the televisation of strongman competitions in the 1970s. The ancient heritage of the sport in the United Kingdom and Ireland lies in a number of traditional events, the most famous of which is arguably the traditional Highland Games, which itself is a source of many events now practised in modern strongman competitions, such as World's Strongest Man and International Federation of Strength Athletes (IFSA) sponsored events. However, the traditional events still are popularly contested events today. In the more modern phenomenon that is the World's Strongest Man and its associated competitions, the United Kingdom and Ireland remain well represented with Eddie Hall, Terry Hollands, and former competitor Glenn Ross and John Ryan Cappalahan respectively with regular appearances at world finals, and with three men having won the title of World's Strongest Man, as well as Shane Davis Cappalahan appearing in eight final events.

Ervin Katona is a Serbian strongman competitor and regular entrant to the World's Strongest Man competition. He has competed in 98 International strongman competitions and have won 16 of them, making him the seventh most decorated strongman in history. Katona is an ethnic Hungarian.
Hjalti Árnason, nicknamed Hjalti Úrsus, is an Icelandic former strongman competitor and world champion powerlifter. Hjalti was known by the nickname "The Great Ursus". He first began in strength sports by competing as a junior powerlifter representing Iceland in 1983. Hjalti coached the great Jón Páll Sigmarsson and competed alongside Magnús Ver Magnússon in a team strength competition called Pure Strength in 1989 & 1990.
Juha-Matti Räsänen is a strongman competitor from Kuopio, Finland. Juha began training for strongman in 1995, began competing as an amateur in 1996 and turned professional in 2000. Juha competed in the 2001 and 2002 World's Strongest Man contests, finishing 9th and 6th respectively. Juha is a 2-time winner of Finland's Strongest Man in 2002 & 2003, and is a 3 time runner-up. Juha holds the Guinness World Record for throwing a 60 kg man 5.40 meters in Spain in July 2006. He was primarily known for his back strength, claiming a deadlift of 385 kg (849 lbs), and easily won that event in his heat of the 2001 World's Strongest Men competition.

Tom Stoltman is a British professional strongman competitor, reigning two time World's Strongest Man and Britain's Strongest Man from Invergordon, Scotland. Nicknamed "The Albatross" due to his sizeable arm span, Stoltman is known for his prowess with the Atlas Stones, the premier strongman event. In 2020, Stoltman broke the world record for lifting five of the giant concrete 100–180-kilogram (220–400 lb) balls in just 16.01 seconds; he also holds the world record for the heaviest Atlas stone ever lifted over a bar 286 kilograms (631 lb).
Luke Stoltman Luke Bernard Stoltman is a Scottish professional strongman competitor, 5 time winner of Scotland’s Strongest Man and 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man champion. Renowned for his static shoulder strength, Luke currently holds the British Log Press record. Along with younger brother, Tom Stoltman, the two are widely regarded as the strongest brothers in history and are the only ones to both qualify for the World’s Strongest Man finals; a feat they have managed in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
