WWKB is a commercial radio station in Buffalo, New York. It broadcasts a sports gambling format and is owned and operated by Audacy, Inc. It is one of two sports radio stations owned by Audacy in the Buffalo radio market, with WGR primarily broadcasting local sports programming. The studios are on Corporate Parkway in Amherst, New York. The station used the WKBW callsign from its 1926 founding until 1986, and had periods broadcasting pop-rock music and talk radio.

John Richard Jeanneret was a Canadian television and radio personality best known as the play-by-play announcer for the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres and its broadcast network, the Sabres Hockey Network for 51 years. Having started with the team on radio during the team's second season in 1971–72, and ending his career after the 2021–22 season, he was the longest-tenured play-by-play announcer with a single team in NHL history. He moved to television during the 1995–96 season and began doubling both television and radio play-by-play duties during the 1997–98 season. He was known as "RJ" within the Sabres organization and by close associates.
Van Miller was an American radio and television sports announcer from Dunkirk, New York, where he began his career at Dunkirk radio station WFCB calling play-by-play for high school football games. In the 1950s, he moved to Buffalo where he became the chief play-by-play announcer for the Buffalo Bills Radio Network, the official radio broadcasting arm of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League from the team's inception as an AFL team in 1960 to 1971, and again from 1977 to 2003. At the time of his retirement in 2003, Miller was the longest-tenured commentator with one team in pro football history.
John Otto (1929–1999) was a radio talk show host in Buffalo, New York. He began his broadcasting career in the 1940s at the age of 19 at WBNY which has since changed its call sign. He spent most of his radio career doing an evening listener call in show branded Extension 55 at WGR. When WKBW switched from music to talk, he moved to that station doing the same show rebranded as Night Call.

Empire Sports Network was an American regional sports network that was owned by the Adelphia Communications Corporation. The network was available on cable providers in much of upstate New York, as well as parts of northern Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. The network ceased operations on March 7, 2005, in the midst of Adelphia's financial collapse and bankruptcy.

Warren P. "Clip" Smith was a Buffalo, New York media personality and newsman. Smith was a sports reporter at WKBW-TV from 1971 until being fired in December 1988, and later returned to radio in Buffalo at WGR and WBEN (AM) as a conservative talk show host and commentator. He was the play-by-play announcer for the University at Buffalo Bulls in the mid-1980s. He is remembered for his "Clipley's Believe It or Don't" segments and the puns and one-liners he worked into his broadcasts. He was killed at age 63 in a car accident in Niagara County, New York. At the time of his death, Smith was a member of the Lockport Board of Education and had been a three-time candidate for mayor of Lockport, New York. In May 2005, Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds of New York paid tribute to Smith, noting that the "Clipper" earned his reputation for "his strong opinions, as well as his quick wit and one-liner quips."

Since the early 1980s, the station has changed formats approximately once every four to seven years. Its current format is country music, branded as "107.7 & 104.7 The Wolf".

In addition to the Bills, he also served as commentator for the Buffalo Bisons, Canisius College Golden Griffins, Buffalo Bulls and Niagara University Purple Eagles in the 1980s.
