Christopher Mark Unthank (born 31 August 1972 in Frankston, Victoria [1] ) is a retired Australian athlete who specialised in the 3000 metres steeplechase. [2] He represented his country at two Summer Olympics, in 1996 and 2000, reaching the semifinals on the first occasion.

The 3000 metres steeplechase or 3000-meter steeplechase is the most common distance for the steeplechase in track and field. It is an obstacle race over the distance of the 3000 metres, which derives its name from the horse racing steeplechase.
