El Cajon Valley High School (ECVHS) is a comprehensive public secondary school located in El Cajon, California, which is in the eastern county of San Diego, and serves students in grades nine through twelve. Established in 1955, El Cajon Valley is the third of twelve high schools to be built in the Grossmont Union High School District. ECVHS is the home of the Braves.

Citrus Belt League (C.B.L.) is a high school sports league in the Inland Empire region within the Greater Los Angeles area of California's CIF Southern Section. The Citrus Belt League was one of the first leagues in 1913 when the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) was established under a different name. The league dates back to the 1890s, with founding members Chaffey High School of Ontario, Redlands High School, Riverside High School and San Bernardino High School. It was the only Division I league in the San Bernardino-Riverside County area since its inception, until 2006, when CIF Southern Section releagued it to Division II. The league also organizes an Academic Decathlon competition.

Grossmont High School is the oldest high school in San Diego's east county, California. Its mascot is the Foothiller, so chosen because, at the time of the school's construction, east county was much more isolated from the rest of San Diego than it is today and was often referred to as the boondocks or the foothills. Grossmont is in the Grossmont Union High School District. The school has an approximate enrollment of 2,800 students.

Currently, there are approximately 1,470 enrolled students. It is part of the HBUHSD school district, with five other high schools. The school is unique in that it features the only IB Program in the district. The implementation of “embedded tutorial” at the end of each period two years ago resulted in the biggest drop in the total number of D and F grades for students in the district. It features a business academy that has 170 participants, the sole Mandarin Chinese foreign language program in the district, and a college preparation curriculum. In addition, the school boasts the highest senior satisfaction survey results of the district. OVHS is also a two-time California Distinguished School.
