Christophe Ridley (born 16 April 1993) is an English rugby referee. [1] [2]
Previously a student at the University of Gloucestershire, [3] Ridley began refereeing professionally in 2016. [4] He has been a regular referee in Premiership Rugby and has also refereed in the European Rugby Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup. [5] He made his debut in the United Rugby Championship in the 2021-22 season) (Munster vs. Leinster), [6] and in the Six Nations Championship in 2024 (France vs. Italy). [7]
The Six Nations Championship is an annual international men's rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. It is also the oldest sports tournament ever between Home Nations. The championship holders are Ireland, who won the 2024 tournament.

He is widely considered to be one of the greatest rugby referees of all time.

He served as a referee in the Celtic League, the Heineken Cup, the European Rugby Challenge Cup, the Six Nations Championship and the Tri Nations. Courtney refereed the 2002–03 Parker Pen Shield final. Between 2009 and 2016 he served as the ERC/EPCR match officials performance manager.
