Christopher Nwabuisi Ezeala (born September 19, 1995) is a former German-French professional gridiron football defensive lineman who played in one season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Baltimore Ravens as part of the International Player Pathway Program in 2018.
In his youth Ezeala played for the Feldkirchen Lions, München Rangers and as an adult for the Ingolstadt Dukes and the Allgäu Comets in the German Football League. He played mostly as a linebacker, but also as a defensive end and running back. [1]
For his achievements in the national league he was selected for the International Player Pathway Program in 2018 of the National Football League and trained three months at IMG Academy in Florida, where he switched to the fullback position. From there he was allocated to the Baltimore Ravens. [2] [3]
After he played all five preseason games of the 2018 NFL season he signed a future/reserve contract for one year. [4] [5] Again in the 2019 NFL preseason he played in all four games, [6] but didn't made the 53-man final roster. Instead he was placed on the practice squad with the additional international spot. [7] Starting the 2020 NFL season his future/reserve contract wasn't extended, which made him free agent. [8]
In April 2021, he was signed by the Cologne Centurions from the newly formed European League of Football. [9] In the first game of the 2021 season Ezeala scored a touchdown before he was injured in the 3rd quarter. The Centurions lost 39:55 against the Panthers Wrocław. [10] Due to further injuries in the defense of the centurions he played linebacker and defensive end again. After three games he was released by the team for personal reasons. [11]
Also in April 2021, Ezeala was drafted in the first round of the 2021 CFL Global Draft from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League. [12] [13] After he left the Centurions in July, he traveled at the end of August to Regina and play on the practice squad of the Roughriders first. [14] In the 2021 Saskatchewan Roughriders season, he played in eleven games as a fullback and defensive lineman.
Before the 2022 CFL season, he announced his retirement from professional football. [15]
John Chick is a former professional Canadian football defensive end who played eight seasons in the Canadian Football League, primarily with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After signing with Saskatchewan in 2007, he was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player after the 2009 CFL season. He would help the team capture the Grey Cup twice, in 2007 and 2013. Chick has also spent time in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to playing professional football, Chick played college football for the Utah State Aggies. During his senior season with the Aggies, Chick recorded 12.5 quarterback sacks, good enough for fifth overall in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Chick also played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos later in his career.
Elance Antonio Frazier is an American former professional football cornerback in the National Football League for the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League and the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe. He played college football at the West Virginia University.
Alex Hall is a former professional Canadian football defensive end. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at St. Augustine's College.
Cassius M. Vaughn is a former Canadian football defensive back. He was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at Ole Miss. Vaughn has also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers in the National Football League (NFL). He made his CFL debut in 2016 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The 2017 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 60th season for the team in the Canadian Football League. It was the club's 108th year overall, and its 102nd season of play. The Roughriders improved upon their 5–13 record from 2016 and clinched a playoff spot with a win over the Calgary Stampeders on October 20, 2017. They finished in fourth place in the West Division and crossed over to the East Division playoffs for the third time in franchise history. They won their first ever East Semi-Final game by defeating the Ottawa Redblacks, but lost the following week to the Toronto Argonauts 25–21 in the last minute of the game.
