Long abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered at least ten women in the Tampa Bay area in Florida during an eight-month period in 1984. He released 17-year-old Lisa McVey after 26 hours. McVey provided critical information to the police that enabled them to arrest Long.
David Joseph Carpenter, also known as The Trailside Killer, is an American serial killer and serial rapist known for stalking and murdering a variety of individuals on hiking trails in state parks near San Francisco, California. He attacked at least ten individuals and was convicted in seven murders and was confirmed to be the killer in an eighth murder; Carpenter is also suspected in two additional killings. Two attempted victims, Steven Haertle and Lois Rinna, mother of television personality Lisa Rinna, survived. Carpenter used a .38 caliber handgun in all but one of the killings. A .44 caliber handgun was used in the killing of Edda Kane on Mount Tamalpais.
Paul Durousseau is an American serial killer who murdered seven young women in the southeastern United States between 1997 and 2003. German authorities suspect he may have also killed several local women when he was stationed there with the United States Army during the early 1990s. Typically, Durousseau would gain the victim's trust, enter the victim's home, tie their hands, rape, then strangle them to death. All of his known victims were young, single African-American women.

Along with his accomplice, Henry Maile, the duo robbed, raped and killed women and nearby witnesses on streets between February and September 2000. Maile was killed during apprehension, and Makamu was sentenced to 165 years' imprisonment.
The Sleepy Hollow Killer is the name of an unidentified South African rapist and serial killer, thought to be responsible for the rapes and murders of at least 13 women, most likely sex workers, around Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal. His signature was to strangle his victims using their panties, a characteristic shared with the murders of three prostitutes in 2007, who are also considered possible victims.
Khangayi Sedumedi, known as The Century City Killer, is a South African serial killer and rapist, responsible for the murders of between four and six women in the aforementioned Cape Town neighborhood between 2011 and 2015. He was convicted on four counts and given seven life sentences in 2016, and is currently incarcerated at an unnamed prison in Cape Town.

Richard Jabulani Nyauza is a South African serial killer and rapist who murdered 16 women in and around the Rossway Quarry. Shortly after becoming infected with HIV in 2002, Nyauza murdered his first five victims near Olievenhoutbosch. Later that year, he was arrested for attempting to rape a child, but was released in 2005 after being found not guilty. Weeks later, he began murdering women again in an area about 2.8 kilometers away from the area the original murders occurred in. Nyauza murdered 11 more women until his arrest in 2006. Following his trial, he was found guilty and given 16 life sentences as well an additional 140 years imprisonment.
Themba Anton Sukude, also known as The Newcastle serial killer, is a South African serial killer who murdered four men and raped two women in Newcastle's Trim Park between February 2004 and January 2005. His initial modus operandi consisted of targeting couples. He would bludgeon the male with a rock and rape the female. However, he later switched to solely targeting men. He was caught in March 2005 after confessing to a stranger, and convicted of the crimes the following year. He is now serving five life sentences as well as an additional 40 years.
