Chumki Choudhury is an Indian actress who is known for her work in Bengali cinema. [1] [2] Born to Bengali filmmaker Anjan Choudhury, she made her silver screen debut opposite Joy Banerjee in Hirak Jayanti (1990), a Bengali film directed by her father. [3] She rose to fame because of the massive success of the film. [4] She held on to her popularity for her roles in Bengali films such as Abhagini (1991), Indrajit (1992), Maya Mamata (1993), Geet Sangeet (1994), Mejo Bou (1995), Naach Nagini Naach Re (1996). [4]
Chumki Choudhury was born in Kolkata. [5] She is the daughter of famous director Anjan Choudhury and Smt. Joysree Choudhury. She passed her Madhyamik from Joysree Siksha Niketan and completed her Higher Secondary and B.A. from New Alipore College.
Chumki Choudhury made her acting debut under the direction of her father called Hirak Jayanti as a lead actress. The film was released in 1990. After doing several films, she earned her reputation in the Bengali film industry. In 1991, the people started knowing her after acting in Babloo Samaddar’s film called ‘Abhagini’.
Chumki Chaudhury took her primary lessons in dance and music from her mother Joysree Choudhury and later on from Bani Debnath. She was involved with stage shows professionally.[ citation needed ]

Robi Ghosh was an Indian actor known for his work in Bengali cinema. He is known for his comic appeal, though his versatile acting talent brought him success in various kinds of roles. Sangharsha is a 1995 Indian Bengali-language political action film directed by Haranath Chakraborty. Produced by Prabir Kumar Rakshit and Gautam Sinha Roy under the banner of Laxmi Chitram, the film was based on a story by Anjan Chowdhury, which itself was inspired from the political violence taken place in West Bengal during the late 1980s. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Ranjit Mallick, Tapas Paul, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Abhishek Chatterjee, Chumki Chowdhury, Laboni Sarkar, Manoj Mitra, Dilip Roy in pivotal roles. Plotted in a village near Bolpur, which is ruled by two gangs, in conflict with each other for various social issues including a cold competition during the Durga Puja. During these violent situations, there arrives a doctor, Subhankar, discovers that both the leaders of the gangs are educated but are indulged to do anti-social activities forcibly by a local politician and a doctor. Then he takes the situation under control and becomes the inspiration for the gang members to be turned around.
