Churchill is a community in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island. The community was named for Winston Churchill. [1] It is located in the township of Lot 65, Queens County immediately west of New Haven.

Prince Edward Island is a province of Canada consisting of the Atlantic island of the same name along with several much smaller islands nearby. PEI is one of the three Maritime Provinces. It is the smallest province of Canada in both land area and population, but it is the most densely populated. Part of the traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq, it became a British colony in the 1700s and was federated into Canada as a province in 1873. Its capital is Charlottetown. According to the 2016 census, the province of PEI has 142,907 residents.
Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, was a British politician, army officer, and writer. He was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, when he led Britain to victory in the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955. Churchill represented five constituencies during his career as a Member of Parliament (MP). Ideologically an economic liberal and imperialist, for most of his career he was a member of the Conservative Party, which he led from 1940 to 1955, but from 1904 to 1924 was instead a member of the Liberal Party.
Churchill is located in the Bonshaw Hills, a high land in the centre of the province. Strathgartney Hill separates the community from Bonshaw to the west.
Bonshaw is a municipality that holds community status in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located near the province's south shore on the Northumberland Strait.
