CiMPLE is a visual programming language that tries to visually mimic procedural languages like C/C++. Created using C++ on a Qt 4.+ cross-platform application framework, CiMPLE was awarded by Nokia as the First Qt/C++ Ambassador Application. Motivation to create CiMPLE was to help do away for rote memorization of language syntax while programming a robotic kit.

Visual programming language

In computing, a visual programming language (VPL) is any programming language that lets users create programs by manipulating program elements graphically rather than by specifying them textually. A VPL allows programming with visual expressions, spatial arrangements of text and graphic symbols, used either as elements of syntax or secondary notation. For example, many VPLs are based on the idea of "boxes and arrows", where boxes or other screen objects are treated as entities, connected by arrows, lines or arcs which represent relations.

C (programming language) general-purpose programming language

C is a general-purpose, imperative computer programming language, supporting structured programming, lexical variable scope and recursion, while a static type system prevents many unintended operations. By design, C provides constructs that map efficiently to typical machine instructions, and it has therefore found lasting use in applications that were previously coded in assembly language. Such applications include operating systems, as well as various application software for computers ranging from supercomputers to embedded systems.

Qt (software) Object-oriented framework for GUI creation

FLTK library

Qt Jambi is a Java binding of the cross-platform application framework Qt. It enables Java developers to use Qt within Java programming language. In addition, Qt Jambi generator can be used to create Java bindings for other Qt libraries and future versions of Qt. Unlike GTK there are no Swing LAF implementations that use Qt for rendering.

Qt Creator QT development environment

Qt Creator is a cross-platform C++, JavaScript and QML integrated development environment which is part of the SDK for the Qt GUI application development framework. It includes a visual debugger and an integrated GUI layout and forms designer. The editor's features include syntax highlighting and autocompletion. Qt Creator uses the C++ compiler from the GNU Compiler Collection on Linux and FreeBSD. On Windows it can use MinGW or MSVC with the default install and can also use Microsoft Console Debugger when compiled from source code. Clang is also supported.

PySide

PySide2 is a Python binding of the cross-platform GUI toolkit Qt, currently developed by The Qt Company under the Qt for Python project. It is one of the alternatives to the standard library package Tkinter. Like Qt, PySide2 is free software. The project started out using Boost.Python from the Boost C++ Libraries for the bindings and later switched to the binding generator Shiboken to reduce the size of the binaries and the memory footprint.

Symbian mobile operating system

Symbian is a discontinued mobile operating system (OS) and computing platform designed for smartphones. Symbian was originally developed as a closed-source OS for PDAs in 1998 by the Symbian Ltd. consortium. Symbian OS was a descendant of Psion's EPOC, and ran exclusively on ARM processors, although an unreleased x86 port existed. Symbian was used by many major mobile phone brands, like Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, and above all by Nokia. It was also prevalent in Japan by brands including Fujitsu, Sharp and Mitsubishi. As a pioneer that established the smartphone industry, it was the most popular smartphone OS on a worldwide average until the end of 2010—at a time when smartphones were in limited use—when it was overtaken by Android, as Google and its partners achieved wide adoption. It was notably not as popular in North America.

QtRuby is a binding of the application framework Qt for Ruby. Korundum is an additional set of bindings for KDE which extend QtRuby.

QML is a user interface markup language. It is a declarative language for designing user interface–centric applications. Inline JavaScript code handles imperative aspects. It is associated with Qt Quick, the UI creation kit originally developed by Nokia within the Qt framework. Qt Quick is often used for mobile applications where touch input, fluid animations and user experience are crucial. QML is also used with Qt3D to describe a 3D scene and a "frame graph" rendering methodology. A QML document describes a hierarchical object tree. QML modules shipped with Qt include primitive graphical building blocks, modeling components, behavioral components, and more complex controls.
