Citrix Workspace (formerly Citrix Workspace Suite) is a digital workspace software platform developed by Citrix Systems. Launched in 2018, it is Citrix Systems' flagship product. [1] [2] Citrix Workspace is an information retrieval service where users can access programs and files from a variety of sources through a central application or a Web browser. [3] [4] In addition to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp and XenDesktop), Citrix Workspace services include Citrix Endpoint Management (formerly XenMobile), Citrix Content Collaboration (formerly ShareFile), [5] Citrix Access Control, [6] microapp capabilities, [1] usage analytics, and single sign-on capabilities to SaaS and Web apps. [7]

Its central application, Citrix Workspace app (formerly Citrix Receiver), is client software that allows access to all of a user's files and apps from one interface. This includes mobile files and desktops, in addition to SaaS and virtual apps. [8]

Citrix Workspace app replaced Citrix Receiver, which was the client component of Citrix products XenDesktop and XenApp, now Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. [9] It was released initially in 2009; devices with Receiver installed were able to access full desktops via XenDesktop or individual applications via XenApp from a centralized host, such as a server or cloud infrastructure. [10] The product's intended users were employees of businesses and organizations. [11]

Citrix Online was the name of the online services division of Citrix Systems. Citrix Online sold web-based remote access, support, and collaboration software and services. Its products are GoToAssist, GoToMeeting, GoToMyPC, GoToTraining, GoToWebinar, Podio, and OpenVoice. Citrix Online used the software as a service (SaaS) and application service provider (ASP) software business models.

Application virtualization is a software technology that encapsulates computer programs from the underlying operating system on which they are executed. A fully virtualized application is not installed in the traditional sense, although it is still executed as if it were. The application behaves at runtime like it is directly interfacing with the original operating system and all the resources managed by it, but can be isolated or sandboxed to varying degrees.

Desktop virtualization is a software technology that separates the desktop environment and associated application software from the physical client device that is used to access it.

Remote Desktop Services (RDS), known as Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008 and earlier, is one of the components of Microsoft Windows that allow a user to initiate and control an interactive session on a remote computer or virtual machine over a network connection. RDS was first released in 1998 as Terminal Server in Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition, a stand-alone edition of Windows NT 4.0 Server that allowed users to log in remotely. Starting with Windows 2000, it was integrated under the name of Terminal Services as an optional component in the server editions of the Windows NT family of operating systems, receiving updates and improvements with each version of Windows. Terminal Services were then renamed to Remote Desktop Services with Windows Server 2008 R2 in 2009.

VMware Horizon is a commercial desktop and app virtualization product developed by VMware, Inc for Microsoft Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems. It was first sold under the name VMware VDM, but with the release of version 3.0.0 in 2008 it was changed to "VMware View". The name was updated to "Horizon View" with the launch of version 6 in April 2014 and is now referred to as "VMware Horizon" to represent desktop and app virtualization.

XenClient is a desktop virtualization solution from Citrix that runs secure virtual desktops on endpoint devices. Desktops are run locally, without hosting applications or the operating system in a datacenter. It consists of a Type-1 Xen client hypervisor and a management server, which provides features such as centralized provisioning, patching, updating, monitoring, policy controls, and de-provisioning. It enforces security through features including AES-256 full disk encryption, VM isolation, remote kill, lockout, USB filtering, and VLAN tagging. XenClient supports use cases such as disconnected operation on laptops, limited connectivity environments, and other use cases where use of local execution is desired and centralized management is required.

Login VSI maximizes the end-user experience for all digital workspaces. Login VSI's flagship product, Login Enterprise is an automated testing platform that predicts performance, ensures business continuity and reduces risk. Login Enterprise tests the desktop and applications as a whole, from pre-production thru to production. Login Enterprise includes standard “out-of-the-box” application template workloads. The technology is used by large organizations using Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, VMware Horizon and Microsoft RDS. Login VSI has over 400 customers in 50 countries.

2X Software

2X Software was a Maltese software company specializing in virtual desktop, application virtualization, application delivery, Remote Desktop Services, remote access and Mobile Device Management. On 25 February 2015, 2X Software was acquired by Parallels, Inc. The 2X products, Remote Application Server and Mobile Device Management, are now included in Parallels' offering.

Citrix Endpoint Management is an on-premises and cloud-based software developed by Citrix Systems that provides unified endpoint management for corporate- and employee-owned devices for business use. It is part of the Citrix Workspace platform.

Citrix Workspace App is the client component of XenDesktop and XenApp, developed by Citrix Systems. It was released initially in 2009.

Citrix Virtual Apps is an application virtualization software produced by Citrix Systems that allows Windows applications to be accessed via individual devices from a shared server or cloud system.

Citrix Cloud is a cloud management platform that allows organizations to deploy cloud-hosted desktops and apps to end users. It was developed by Citrix Systems and released in 2015.

Citrix ADC is a line of networking products owned by Citrix Systems. The products consist of Citrix ADC, an application delivery controller (ADC), NetScaler AppFirewall, an application firewall, NetScaler Unified Gateway, NetScaler Management & Analytics System, and NetScaler SD-WAN, which provides software-defined wide-area networking management. NetScaler was initially developed in 1997 by Michel K Susai and acquired by Citrix in 2005. Citrix consolidated all of its networking products under the NetScaler brand in 2016.
