Civil Lines is a residential neighbourhood in Moradabad, India. It is one of the various Civil Lines neighbourhoods developed by the British Raj for the senior officers in British India. [1] The Moradabad Club is also situated in this neighbourhood. [2] Though a residential neighbourhood, commercial buildings can also be seen in the area. Moradabad's first shopping mall Crossroads Mall also came up in this neighbourhood in 2006. The area also has numerous schools, hospitals and shopping areas. The income tax department building is also located in the neighbourhood.

Some magnificent structures erected in this era consist of the Khusro Bagh and the Allahabad Fort. In the north of Railway Station, the New Prayagraj City consists of neighborhoods like Lukergunj, Civil Lines, Georgetown, Tagoretown, Bharadwaj Puram, Ashok Nagar, Mumfordgunj etc., which are relatively new and were built during the British rule. Civil Lines are the residential neighbourhoods developed during the British Raj for its senior civilian officers like Divisional commissioner and District magistrate. These townships were built all over the Indian subcontinent and were allotted to civil officers in the respective countries. This is distinct from Forts and Cantonments, which were expressedly military establishments.

The Mall or Mall Road, also known as Mahatma Gandhi Road is a central business district of Indian city of Kanpur. The area houses many shopping complexes, hotels, MNCs and shopping stores. Mall Road is one of the busiest roads of the city, traffic is daily thrown out of gear here. The road houses the biggest mall of the city, Christ Church College built in 1866, Reserve Bank of India, GPO and many other prominent buildings.

It was founded in 1853 when Budaun city was made the headquarter of district replacing Sahaswan.
