Clara Gasebewe Bohitile (born 19 November 1955) is a Namibian businesswoman and former politician.
Bohitile was born on 19 November 1955 in Windhoek. [1] She attended the Catholic School in the Old Location, [2] Windhoek's black resident's suburb until the late 1950s. She also schooled at Gunichas Roman Catholic School near Gobabis and at the Catholic High School in Döbra. Bohitile took up Home Economics on tertiary education at Tshiye College and Vista University,both in South Africa. [3] After graduation she taught at Windhoek's Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School. [4] She also started a farming career and became active in politics. [3]
A member of SWAPO,Bohitile was a member of the 2nd and 3rd National Assemblies from 1995 to 2005. She also served as the Deputy Minister of Basic Education and Culture from 1995 to 2005 as well. [5] She re-entered the National Assembly from 2007 to 2010 when she replaced Ben Amathila,who retired. She is also a member of the SWAPO Central Committee. [6]
Bohitile is also a prominent commercial farmer as well as politician. In 2006,she was named the Emerging Farmer of the Year by the Namibia Agricultural Union. [6] In September 2010,she made history when she was elected to the board of the MeatCo Namibia. She was the first woman ever chosen to the chair the MeatCo board. [7] Bohitile also served at the board of Windhoek Country Club and Casino. [3]
Bohitile was conferred the Excellent Order of the Eagle,third Class on Heroes' Day 2014. [8]
Theo-Ben Gurirab was a Namibian politician who served in various senior government positions. He served as the second Prime Minister of Namibia from 28 August 2002 to 20 March 2005,following the demotion and subsequent resignation of Hage Geingob. Previously he was the country's first Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 2002,and was President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1999 to 2000. He was Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2005 to 2015,when he was replaced by Peter Katjavivi. Gurirab ultimately resigned from politics in 2015.
Jerry Lukiiko Ekandjo is a Namibian politician,former anti-apartheid activist and political prisoner. He is one of the founding members of the SWAPO Youth League and has been one of the most active internal leading members of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) during the liberation struggle. He spent eight years in prison on Robben Island after being charged for inciting violence in 1973.

Petrina Namutenya Haingura is a Namibian politician. Haingura is a member of SWAPO,and she holds a seat in the National Assembly of Namibia since 2005. She grew up in a SWAPO-supporting household and has been a part of the movement since 1980. At the time of her election to the National Assembly,Haingura was chosen as the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services. She has also been involved in the SWAPO Party Women's Council.

Clara ǁGowases (1960-2020) was a Namibian teacher and politician. Gowases was elected the chairperson of the Republican Party in September 2009 and subsequently listed second on the party's electoral list for the 2009 general election. Gowases missed out on being elected to the National Assembly as the party only won a single seat. In the February 2010 regional elections,Gowases ran to represent Windhoek Rural in the Regional Council of Khomas Region and was narrowly defeated by SWAPO's Frederick Arie. In March 2011,party president and National Assembly member Henk Mudge resigned and Gowases replaced him in both posts. She was a teacher by profession.
Immanuel Hafeni Augustus Shifidi,born in Windhoek,was a Namibian activist. He was one of the fighters at Omugulugwombashe on 26 August 1966 when eight helicopters of the South African Defence Force attacked SWAPO guerrilla fighters at the camp. It was the first armed battle in the Namibian War of Independence.
