Classic Case was an American rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, formed in 2002. [1]
Vocalist/guitarist Jared Draughon and guitarist Mitchell Marlow formed the band in the early months of 2002 in their hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They had played in a punk band together before but had been separated for two years, with Marlow living and studying in Brooklyn, NY. Marlow persuaded Draughon to relocate the band to Brooklyn where they would begin rehearsing with Marlow's former Sound of Speed drummer, Stephan Linde. Shortly afterward, they recruited bassist Eric Mendelson, a cohort from New Jersey, who rounded out the initial lineup of the band.
The four recorded and released an EP dubbed It's Been Business Doing Pleasure With You. The band then played with Puddle of Mudd and Orgy to Taking Back Sunday and The Used.
In 2004, original drummer Stephan Linde, was replaced by his longtime friend and fellow Long Islander, Durijah Lang (Saves the Day, Glassjaw, The Stryder). After several months of touring and writing, the band delved into a Manhattan recording studio for 3 months to record their debut full-length, Dress to Depress.
Classic Case spent 2005 with the addition of former Beloved vocalist/guitarist Josh Moore being brought into the fold, and the band packing up and returning to its birthplace in North Carolina. Dress to Depress was released October 18, 2005, on Help/Fiddler Records. Fiddler Records dissolved shortly after the record was released.
Their record, Losing at Life, was produced by the lead singer and guitarist of the band Helmet, Page Hamilton. The album was released on Fearless Records on February 20, 2007.
As of mid-January, Mitchell Marlow was no longer listed as a guitarist on the band's Myspace page. Classic Case has since announced publicly that though Mitchell is no longer in Classic Case, it is an amicable split and they are still good friends. He later joined fellow North Carolina band He Is Legend and also played guitar for Filter. In addition, Durijah Lang is currently playing with Glassjaw and Saves the Day.
Jared Draughon is currently performing in Must Be the Holy Ghost. Must Be the Holy Ghost signed with Cardigan Records in January 2014. Must Be the Holy Ghost released his debut album, Get Off, on April 1, 2014. Must Be The Holy Ghost was direct support for The XX for their album release show at Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Mott the Hoople were an English rock band formed in Herefordshire. Originally known as the Doc Thomas Group, the group changed their name after signing with Island Records in 1969. The band released albums throughout the early 1970s but failed to find commercial success. On the verge of breaking up, the band was encouraged by David Bowie to stay together. Bowie wrote the glam rock song "All the Young Dudes" for them, which became a huge commercial success in 1972. Bowie subsequently produced an album of the same name for them, which continued their success.

Glassjaw is an American post-hardcore band from Hempstead, New York. The band is fronted by vocalist Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck, and was a major part of the Long Island music scene in the early 2000s. The band has been influential in the progression of the underground music scene in the eastern United States and United Kingdom for the post-hardcore genre, and are known for their intense live shows as well as their frequent line-up changes.
Worship and Tribute is the second studio album by American post-hardcore band Glassjaw. It is the band's only studio album with Warner Bros. Records after an unpleasant split with Roadrunner Records. It was released on July 9, 2002. As with their first full-length album, Worship and Tribute was produced by Ross Robinson and mixed and engineered by Mike Fraser. It peaked at #82 on the Billboard 200 on July 27, 2002, remaining on the chart for three weeks. It is recognized as one of the greatest post-hardcore albums and one of the greatest albums of the 2000s.
Saves the Day is an American rock band from Princeton, New Jersey, formed in 1997. The band currently consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Conley, guitarist Arun Bali, and bassist Rodrigo Palma.
Throwdown is an American heavy metal band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1997, the band has endured numerous lineup changes to the point where no original members remain. Throwdown has toured as part of Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground, Hellfest, and Warped Tour, as well as with bands such as In Flames, Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Korn and Cavalera Conspiracy. The songs "Forever" and "Burn" were staples on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and Revolver Magazine called them part of "The Future of Metal" after hearing the album Vendetta. Initially branded a hardcore punk band, albums like Venom and Tears and Deathless took a sharp turn towards metal, with critics likening the band's sound to that of Pantera and Sepultura. The band are straight edge.
He Is Legend is an American hard rock/heavy metal band from Wilmington, North Carolina, formed in the late 1990s but settled on the name "He Is Legend" in 2003. According to the aggregate of the listeners, He Is Legend's music is similar to that of Alexisonfire, Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, and Thrice. The band's lineup is front man Schuylar Croom, guitarist Adam Tanbouz, bassist Matty Williams, and drummer Jesse Shelley.
Fearless Records is an American independent record label that was founded in 1994. Fearless is based in Culver City, California, and is best known for its early pop punk moments captured in the Fearless Flush Sampler and Punk Bites releases, as well as additional releases by bands such as Bigwig and Dynamite Boy; and later Sugarcult; Plain White T's; The Aquabats; Amely; and post-hardcore releases by At the Drive-In and Anatomy of a Ghost. However, the label has experimented with different styles in recent years. Acts such as Blessthefall, The Word Alive, Ice Nine Kills, Mayday Parade, Pierce The Veil, Starset, The Pretty Reckless, Underoath and The Color Morale have showcased post-hardcore, metalcore, hard rock and alternative rock bands that have emerged in recent years. Fearless Records' releases were distributed in the US by RED Distribution, but after Concord Music Group's purchase of the label in 2015, it is now distributed by Universal Music Group worldwide.

The Hot Lies were an alternative rock band based in Australia. The band formed in Adelaide, in early 2004. Their line-up consisted of lead vocalist Pete Wood, rhythm guitarist Benjamin Pix, drummer Jared Brown, lead guitarist Luke Szabo and former I Killed the Prom Queen bassist Leaton Rose. The Hot Lies released two EPs and a full-length album, Ringing in the Sane, which reached the top 40 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Kiss My Ass: Classic Kiss Regrooved is a 1994 tribute album, featuring a variety of artists covering songs by the American rock band Kiss. The Stryder was an American band hailing from Long Island, New York, United States. The band was formed by Peter Toh and Scottie Redix in 1999 after their previous project, Yearly, disbanded following the departure of bassist Eben D'amico, who left to join Saves the Day. They added a vocalist and bassist, John Johansen and Nick Wendel respectively. They released a 7" on Elkion Records titled "The Hits Just Keep on Comin" and shortly after signed a deal to Equal Vision Records and released their debut album Masquerade in the Key of Crime in the mid-2000. The band toured extensively and began writing new material in 2001. They added former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang, and moved Scottie Redix to guitar and backing vocals. In mid-2001 the band parted ways with vocalist John Johansen. Scottie stated in a 2019 interview that the split from Johansen was amicable and due to the change in creative direction the band was going in. 2002 saw the release of "Jungle City Twitch". Debuting a new sound, The Stryder continued to tour the country in support of the new release. In 2003/2004, Elkion Records released Savor The Danger! which contained a collection of old demos and the two songs from the 7" previously released on the label. Toh released his first solo EP "Cleopatra" in 2004 on Elkion Records. Durijah moved on to become the drummer of Classic Case and in 2007, became Pete Parada's replacement in Saves The Day. In 2006, Toh then went on to start an internet TV/new media company, Hidden Track TV with Adam Schleichkorn, and released a solo EP titled "Shoes of a Beast".
Fiddler Records was a small independent record label serving as the launch pad for several artists seminal to the pop, punk and emo genres. Starting as the brainchild of 16-year-old entrepreneur Amy Fleisher Madden in 1996, the label became well known for its early releases from marquee artists Dashboard Confessional and New Found Glory. Over the course of 10 years, Fiddler Records developed a steady roster of successful artists such as The Bled, The Higher, Recover, Juliette & The Licks, Name Taken and Classic Case.

Telescreen was an American rock band formed in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 2007. Following the breakup of Classic Case and Codeseven, members of the two bands created a new musical project. Taking their name from George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the band combines samples and effects with progressive space rock. Their live performances featured the quintet playing behind a giant screen, which alternately featured messages and art film imagery. The lighting and projection was timed so that at certain points the band is visible behind the screen, while at others they were obscured by the images.
Artist vs. Poet was an American power pop band from Fort Worth, Texas, United States, formed in late 2007 by Jason Dean, Craig Calloway, Jeff Olsen, Patrick Rigden, Joe Kirkland, Joe Westbrook, and Tarcy Thomason. After many changes in the band, Artist vs Poet is made up of Joe Kirkland, on vocals, guitar and keyboards, and Jason Dean, on bass and drums. Kirkland was also a contestant in the third season of the American NBC reality show The Voice.
