Claudia Roshardt-Pasquale (born 22 May 1963) is a retired professional tennis player from Switzerland.
Pasquale played in three Federation Cup ties for Switzerland. She debuted in Switzerland's quarterfinal loss to the USSR in the 1979 Federation Cup and lost her singles match to Natasha Chmyreva in three sets. In the 1980 competition, she featured in a 3–0 whitewash over Greece in the first round, then sat out of the action as Switzerland made it to the semifinals. She was recalled for the opening rubber of the semifinal against the United States, replacing Isabelle Villiger, but was unable to trouble Andrea Jaeger, and Switzerland was beaten easily in the tie. Her most notable performance on tour was reaching the fourth round of the 1981 Wimbledon Championships as a qualifier. Having received a bye in the opening round, Pasquale started with a second round win over Kathy Rinaldi, who had earlier become the youngest player to win a Wimbledon match, at 14. [2] In the third round she upset 11th seed Dianne Fromholtz, then was eliminated by eventual champion Chris Evert Lloyd 6–0, 6–0 to end her run. [3]
Now known by her married name Roshardt, she has two sons who competed in tennis. The eldest Robin won the Orange Bowl in 2005 and made two main draw appearances at the Swiss Open Gstaad. [4] Younger son Luca played on the international juniors circuit. [5]
Chris Evert was the defending champion and successfully defended her title, defeating Martina Navratilova 2–6, 6–3, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1986 French Open. This was their 3rd successive final at the French Open, was Evert's 18th and final Grand Slam singles championship, and her 7th Roland Garros championship, an all-time record for women. This win meant that Evert won a Grand Slam title for a 13th consecutive year, an Open Era record.
Kathy Rinaldi-Stunkel is a former professional American tennis player, who retired in September 1997. In her career, she won three singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, and reached the semifinals of the 1985 Wimbledon Championships.

The tournament was played on grass courts at the Kooyong Stadium in Melbourne from 29 November through 11 December 1983. Navratilova earned $75,000 prize money for winning the title, her 8th career Grand Slam singles title and her 2nd title at the Australian Open after 1981. She improved her year record to 86 wins and 1 loss. This tournament was also notable for being the first Australian Open in which Steffi Graf appeared in the main draw, and the last time that Billie Jean King appeared in the main singles draw of a grand slam.
