The Cod oil gas and condensate field is a gas and associated natural gas liquids (NGL) production field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of oil and gas started in 1977, peak gas and NGL was achieved in 1980. Production ceased in 1998 and the field installation was dismantled in 2013.

The design production capacity of Cod was 17,400 bopd (barrels of oil per day) and 117 mmscfd (million standard cubic feet per day) of gas. [3] Initial separation was at 500 psia (88.3 bar). There was a single 3-phase separator with provision for 350 bpd of produce water. The produced gas was dried in a glycol contactor. Condensate was dried in coalescing filters. Dehydrated oil and gas streams were combined and sent to Ekofisk in a single 2-phase pipeline. [1]
Cod also received gas from the Ulla field which passed directly to the export pipeline. [1]

Canada's natural gas liquids industry dates back to the discovery of wet natural gas at Turner Valley, Alberta in 1914. The gas was less important than the natural gasoline - "skunk gas" it was called, because of its distinctive odour - that early producers extracted from it. That natural gas liquid (NGL) could be poured directly into an automobile's fuel tank.
Natural-gas processing is a range of industrial processes designed to purify raw natural gas by removing contaminants such as solids, water, carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), mercury and higher molecular mass hydrocarbons (condensate) to produce pipeline quality dry natural gas for pipeline distribution and final use. Some of the substances which contaminate natural gas have economic value and are further processed or sold. Hydrocarbons that are liquid at ambient conditions: temperature and pressure (i.e., pentane and heavier) are called natural-gas condensate (sometimes also called natural gasoline or simply condensate).
An oil production plant is a facility which processes production fluids from oil wells in order to separate out key components and prepare them for export. Typical oil well production fluids are a mixture of oil, gas and produced water. An oil production plant is distinct from an oil depot, which does not have processing facilities.
The Forties pipeline system (FPS) is a major pipeline transport network in the North Sea. It is owned and operated by Ineos and carries 30% of the UK's oil, or about 550 thousand barrels per day of oil per day, to shore. It carries liquids production from 85 fields in the North Sea and several Norwegian fields on behalf of around 40 companies. The system has a capacity of 575,000 barrels of oil a day.
The Central Area Transmission System is a natural gas transportation and processing system that transports natural gas through a 404 kilometre pipeline from the Central North Sea to a reception and processing terminal at Teesside in the North East of England.
The Hutton oil field, located on the UK continental shelf, was the location for the first ever production Tension Leg Platform (TLP).
Tyra Field is the largest gas condensate field in the Danish Sector of the North Sea. It was discovered in 1968 and production started in 1984. The field is owned by Dansk Undergrunds Consortium, a partnership between Total, BlueNord and Nordsofonden, and operated by Total. The reservoir depth is about 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) and it covers area of 90 kilometres (56 mi) in the water depth of 37–40 metres (121–131 ft). The Tyra field has a number of satellite fields, including Roar, Svend and Tyra Southeast fields.
The Teesside oil terminal is a major crude oil reception, processing, storage and export facility at Seal Sands, Middlesbrough. It receives and processes crude oil delivered by the subsea NORPIPE pipeline from the Norwegian Ekofisk field and the UK Fulmar and J-Block fields. The terminal includes facilities for exporting stabilised crude oil and liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) by tanker and pipeline.
The Indefatigable gas field is a large natural gas and associated condensate field located under the North Sea 60 miles (98 km) off the Norfolk coast.
The Viking gas field is a group of natural gas and associated condensate fields located under the southern North Sea about 85 miles from the Lincolnshire coast. The field was in production from 1972 to 2018.
Alwyn North is a major oil and gas field in the United Kingdom sector of the northern North Sea, 160 km east of the Shetland Islands. The field was developed through two bridge-linked offshore platforms and a number of subsea satellite wellheads. Alwyn North has been producing oil and gas since 1987 and is still (2023) in operation.
The Heather oil field is a significant crude oil producing field in the UK sector of the northern North Sea, 458 km north-north-east of Aberdeen. Production of oil started in 1978 and ceased in 2019. The Heather Alpha installation is currently (2021) undergoing decommissioning.
Esmond, Forbes and Gordon are three adjacent, now depleted, natural gas fields in the southern North Sea, 170 km east of Teesside.
The K13 gas fields were major natural gas producing fields in the Netherlands sector of the North Sea, about 130 km west of Den Helder. The fields started producing gas in 1975 but are no longer operational except for one installation used as a riser platform.
The Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering System (LOGGS) was a major natural gas collection, processing and transportation complex in the UK sector of the southern North Sea. It comprised five bridge-linked platforms about 118 km east of the Lincolnshire coast, which operated from 1988 to 2018.
The Edda oil and gas field is a crude oil and associated gas production field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of oil and gas started in 1979, peak oil and gas was achieved in 1980. Production ceased in 1998 and the installation and field infrastructure were dismantled in 2012.
The Albuskjell oil and gas field is a crude oil and associated gas production field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of oil and gas started in 1979, peak oil and gas was achieved in 1982. Production ceased in 1998 and the field installations were dismantled by 2013.
The Odin gas field was a gas producing field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of gas started in October 1984, the peak gas production of 360 mmcfd was achieved in 1985. Production ceased in 1994 and the field installation was dismantled in 1997.
The Eldfisk oil and gas field is a crude oil and gas producing field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of oil and gas started in 1979 and peak oil and gas production was achieved in 1980. The facilities have been extended and are still operational.
The Tor oil field is a crude oil and associated gas producing field in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea. Production of oil and gas started in 1978 and peak oil and gas was achieved in 1979. The field was shut down in 2015 and, following the completion of new wells, started up again in 2020.
