The Colgate Raiders baseball team was a college baseball team fielded by Colgate University from 1886 until 1996. The university announced the shuttering of the program in 1993 due to Title IX equity concerns.
The Raiders played in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship four times, reaching the College World Series in 1955. [2] Fifteen players from Colgate later played in Major League Baseball. [3]

He also was a member of the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League and the Southern California Sun in the World Football League. He played college football at Colgate University.

The Colgate–Cornell football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Colgate Raiders and the Cornell Big Red. The two teams have met 101 times since their first meeting in 1896, and Colgate–Cornell was the 17th most-played college football rivalry as of 2013. Cornell has played Colgate in football more times than any other opponent except Ivy League rivals Penn and Columbia. The series is tied 49–49–3, but Colgate has won 29 of 35 meetings since 1980.

The Raiders, led by seventh-year head coach Matt Langel, played their home games at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, New York as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 19–14, 12–6 in Patriot League play to finish in second place. They defeated Lafayette and Holy Cross to advance to the championship game of the Patriot League Tournament where they lost to Bucknell. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to San Francisco.

The 2018 Colgate Raiders football team represented Colgate University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by fifth-year head coach Dan Hunt and played their home games at Andy Kerr Stadium. They were a member of the Patriot League. They finished the season 10–2, 6–0 in Patriot League play to be Patriot League champions. They received the Patriot League's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where, after a first round bye, they defeated James Madison in the second round before losing in the quarterfinals to North Dakota State. Following the season, they were awarded the Lambert Division I FCS Cup by the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Metropolitan New York Football Writers, signifying the Raiders as the best team in the East in Division I FCS.
