Paul Carey (1986), appointed U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Commissioner by President William Jefferson Clinton, confirmed by US Senate in 1997, formerly Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs at the White House, where he served from February 1993, handling banking, financial services; housing; securities; and other related issues. As Northeast Finance Director, Carey played a critical fund raising role in the Bill Clinton 1992 presidential campaign[7]
