Gregory Amenoff is an American painter. He is located in the tradition of the early American Modernist painters Georgia O'Keeffe,Charles Burchfield,Milton Avery,Arthur Dove and Marsden Hartley. In the early 80s his work was often associated with a style of painting called organic abstraction and exhibited alongside artists Bill Jensen,Katherine Porter and Terry Winters.
Stanton Loomis Catlin was an American art historian,specializing in Latin America. After studying at Oberlin College and the Academy of Fine Arts,Prague,he was to have studied European modern art. The Second World War interrupted these plans and he instead focused on Latin American art. During the war Catlin assisted with exhibiting American art in Latin America,served as a Latin American specialist with the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs and as a lecturer at the University of Chile. At the war's end he served with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in Germany,assisting displaced persons.
Edgar Preston Richardson,also known as E. P. Richardson,was an American art historian,museum director,author,and curator. Richardson served as director of the Detroit Institute of Arts (1945–1962) and Winterthur Museum (1963–1966). He authored seven books,served on the boards of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1966–1977) and other arts organizations,and co-founded the Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian in 1954.
