Perry Warren (born July 28,1963) is an American politician who has served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 31st district since 2017. [1] [2]
Warren County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census,the population was 38,587. Its county seat is Warren. The county was formed in 1800 from parts of Allegheny and Lycoming counties;attached to Crawford County until 1805 and then to Venango County until Warren was formally organized in 1819.
Perry County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census,the population was 45,842. The county seat is New Bloomfield. The county was created on March 22,1820,and was named for Oliver Hazard Perry,a hero of the War of 1812,who had recently died. It was originally part of Cumberland County and was created in part because residents did not want to travel over the mountain to Carlisle,the county seat of Cumberland County. Landisburg became the temporary county seat before New Bloomfield was ultimately chosen.

Pennsylvania's fourth congressional district,effective January 3,2019,encompasses the majority of Montgomery County and a small sliver of Berks County in southeastern Pennsylvania. In the 2020 redistricting cycle,the Pennsylvania district pushed northwards,further into Berks County,effective with the 2022 elections. The area has been represented by Democrat Madeleine Dean since 2013. The fourth district was previously in the south-central part of the state,covering all of Adams and York counties,as well as parts of Cumberland and Dauphin counties,with representation by Republican Scott Perry.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania redrew the district in 2018 after ruling the previous map unconstitutional due to gerrymandering. The court added State College to the old district's boundaries while removing some Democratic-leaning areas and redesignated it the twelfth district,and they reassigned the tenth district to an area around Harrisburg and York. The new tenth district is represented by Republican Scott Perry,who previously represented the old fourth district.

With a margin of 1.43%,this election was the second-closest race of the 2016 Senate election cycle,behind only the election in New Hampshire.

Casey was the first senator who was elected to a third term from Pennsylvania since Arlen Specter in 1992,and the first Pennsylvania Democrat to be popularly elected to three terms in the Senate.

Incumbent Democratic Governor Tom Wolf won re-election to a second term by a double-digit margin,defeating Republican challenger Scott Wagner and two third-party candidates from the Green Party,Paul Glover and Libertarian Party,Ken Krawchuk. The primary elections were held on May 15. This was the first time since Bob Casey Jr.'s landslide State Treasurer win in 2004 that Cumberland County voted for the Democrat in a statewide election.

Democratic state attorney general Josh Shapiro defeated Republican state senator Doug Mastriano in a landslide victory to succeed term-limited incumbent Democratic governor Tom Wolf. Primaries were held on May 17,2022. Shapiro won the Democratic nomination after running unopposed and Mastriano won the Republican nomination with 44% of the vote. Mastriano's nomination drew attention due to his far-right political views.
