Regina G. Young (born August 23,1973) is an American politician and community organizer serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 185th district. Elected in November 2020,she assumed office on December 1,2020.
Young earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Central Connecticut State University and a Master of Arts in community development from Eastern University. [1]
Young has worked as a community organizer,social service worker,and licensed grief counselor. She was also a staffer in the City of Philadelphia Mayor's Office of Education. Young founded the Empowered Community Development Corporation. Young was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on December 1,2020. [2] [3]
Young is an honorary member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,Inc.;she was inducted on July 27,2024 at the sorority's Bouléin Indianapolis,Indiana. [4]

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity,Inc. (ΦΒΣ) is a historically African American fraternity. It was founded at Howard University in Washington,D.C.,on January 9,1914,by three young African-American male students with nine other Howard students as charter members. The fraternity's founders,A. Langston Taylor,Leonard F. Morse,and Charles I. Brown,wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would exemplify the ideals of Brotherhood,Scholarship and Service while taking an inclusive perspective to serve the community as opposed to having an exclusive purpose. The fraternity exceeded the prevailing models of Black Greek-Letter fraternal organizations by being the first to establish alumni chapters,youth mentoring clubs,a federal credit union,chapters in Africa,and a collegiate chapter outside of the United States. It is the only fraternity to hold a constitutional bond with a historically African-American sorority,Zeta Phi Beta (ΖΦΒ),which was founded on January 16,1920,at Howard University in Washington,D.C.,through the efforts of members of Phi Beta Sigma.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,Inc. (ΖΦΒ) is an International collegiate sorority that is historically African American. In 1920,five women from Howard University envisioned a sorority that would raise the consciousness of their people,encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement,and foster a greater sense of unity among its members. The DePauw University Delta Zeta discrimination controversy occurred at the end of 2006 when the Delta Zeta (ΔΖ) national leadership was criticized after The New York Times published an article accusing the sorority of deactivating certain members of the Delta chapter at DePauw University based on their perceived attractiveness. The controversy made national headlines,resulting in the chapter's closing and various legal actions.
The expansion of Greek letter organizations into Canada was an important stage of the North American fraternity movement,beginning in 1879 with the establishment of a chapter of Zeta Psi at the University of Toronto. In 1883,the same fraternity established a chapter at McGill University. Other early foundations were Kappa Alpha Society at Toronto in 1892 and at McGill in 1899,and Alpha Delta Phi at Toronto in 1893 and at McGill in 1897. The first sorority,Kappa Alpha Theta,was established in Toronto in 1887. In 1902,the first international chapter of Phi Delta Theta was established at McGill University as the Quebec Alpha.
Arizona Cleaver Stemons,born Arizona Leedonia Cleaver,was an American social worker. While she was a student at Howard University in 1920,she was one of the five founding members of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority,and its first president.
