Aims and scope

The focus of this journal is undergraduate and graduate level physics. The intended audience is college and university physics teachers and students. Coverage includes current research in physics, instructional laboratory equipment, laboratory demonstrations, teaching methodologies, lists of resources, and book reviews. In addition, historical, philosophical and cultural aspects of physics are also covered. [3] According to the 2021 Journal Citation Reports from Clarivate, this journal has a 2020 impact factor of 1.022. [6]

History

The former title of this journal was American Physics Teacher (vol. 1, February 1933) ( ISSN   0096-0322). It was a quarterly journal from 1933 to 1936, and then a bimonthly from 1937 to 1939. After volume 7 was published in December 1939, the name of the journal was changed to its current title in February 1940. Hence, the publication begins under its new title with volume 8 in February 1940. [3] [4] [7]

The American Journal of Public Health is a monthly peer-reviewed public health journal published by the American Public Health Association that covers health policy and public health. The journal was established in 1911 and its stated mission is "to advance public health research, policy, practice, and education." The journal occasionally publishes themed supplements. The editor-in-chief is Alfredo Morabia.

The journal was established in 1968 as the Georgia Government Review by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and is the official journal of the Section on Intergovernmental Administration and Management of the American Society for Public Administration. Medical Physics is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on medical physics. The first issue was published in January 1974. Medical Physics is an official journal of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists, the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine and the International Organization for Medical Physics. The editor-in-chief is John M. Boone.

Photosynthetica is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on photosynthesis. It was established in 1967 and is published by the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The editor-in-chief is Helena Synkova. Up till 2019, the journal was published by Springer Science+Business Media.

Combustion Science and Technology is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on combustion. The editor-in-chief is Richard A. Yetter. It is published by Taylor & Francis and was established in 1969. The journal was preceded by Pyrodynamics, which was published from 1964 to 1969.

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering plasma physics. It is published by the Institute of Physics and the editor-in-chief is R.O. Dendy. The journal was established in 1960 as Plasma Physics, obtaining its current title in 1984.
