Bikaner is a city in the northwest of the state of Rajasthan, India. It is located 330 kilometres (205 mi) northwest of the state capital, Jaipur. It is the administrative headquarters of Bikaner District and Bikaner division.

Udaipur is a city in the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan, about 415 km (258 mi) south of the state capital Jaipur. It serves as the administrative headquarters of Udaipur district. The Veterinary College, Bangalore was established on 25 July 1958 affiliated with Mysore University. The college started in a temporary shed located in the then Mysore Serum Institute, now called the institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals, Hebbal. The Veterinary College became a constituent college of the University of Agricultural Sciences in 1965. It became part of the newly established Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar from April 2005. Mohanlal Sukhadia University also called University of Udaipur or Udaipur University is a public university in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The earlier agricultural university of 1956 was turned into a multi-faculty university in 1964 and named University of Udaipur. In 1984 it was renamed Mohanlal Sukhadia University in memory of politician Mohanlal Sukhadia. The university has two campuses spread over an area of more than 600 acres of land. Lastly, the university was accredited at "A" Grade by NAAC Bengaluru, with a CGPA of 3.26.
Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), formerly Rajasthan Agricultural University, is a state agricultural university located in Bikaner in the Indian state Rajasthan. The university, formerly a part of the Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur became a separate entity in 1987 through Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner Act, 1987. It was renamed after freedom fighter and social reformer Swami Keshwanand in 2009. Raksha Pal Singh was appointed vice chancellor in 2019.

Manikya Lal Verma was a member of Constituent Assembly of India in 1949. He was prime minister of Rajasthan, India before full formation of the state. He was elected to Lok Sabha in 1957 from Chittorgarh and in 1952 from Tonk. He was recipient of Padma Bhushan in 1965.
