Colorado Music Buzz Magazine is a United States-based magazine devoted to Colorado music, arts and entertainment that is published monthly across the Front Range of Colorado. The magazine was founded in Parker, Colorado in 2005 by Keith Schneider and Eric F. Fletcher. It is known for its positive coverage of the Colorado music scene with a focus on the bands and artists who have reached a mid-level of success and have a chance to break nationally.

Colorado Music Buzz Magazine in its 7-year history has showcased several notable local Colorado musicians as well as Colorado politicians. Bands such as: Devotchka Vol. 1 Issue 7, Flobots Vol. 2 Issue 4, The Fray Vol. 2 Issue 8, Tickle Me Pink, Vol. 3 Issue 1, Rose Hill Drive Vol. 3 Issue 3, Meese Vol. 3 Issue 10, and politicians such as Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper Vol. 2 Issue 6 and Eric Dyce entertainment coordinator for Red Rocks Vol 2. Issue 2.

Since 2012, the majority of the magazines feature and cover stories have been written by Managing Editors Jenn Cohen and Tim Wenger.

Celebrity contributors

In December 2008, Ahrue Luster of alternative metal band Ill Niño began his monthly column "Road Block".

In March 2009, Nathen Maxwell of the Celtic punk band Flogging Molly started his monthly column "View From The Stage".

In the summer of 2008, Doug Haywood, formerly of the Jackson Browne band, partially serialized his upcoming novel.

Rich Ross of Modulus Guitars and Flea contributes a monthly column entitled "Lessons from the Road".

Uncle Nasty, formerly from KBPI and the DJs of KTNI-FM, also contribute monthly columns.

Jesse Walker, bassist for the Flobots, was a contributing writer for Colorado Music Buzz Magazine up until the rigors of touring took over his time.

Colorado Music Buzz Magazine has had several notable interviews with major musical artists, including Bill Stevenson of the punk bands Descendents and All and co-founder of The Blasting Room recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado; JR Swartz, formerly of nu metal band Motograter who is currently with Curiosity Kills; Grammy Award-winning jazz and a cappella vocalist Bobby McFerrin; Josh "JP" Paul, bass player for rock band Daughtry; vocalist Ivan Moody of heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch who is from Westminster, Colorado; and David Ellefson, former bass player for heavy metal band Megadeth and current bassist for F5.[ citation needed ]

Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz is an American musician who has been the bassist for heavy metal band Metallica since 2003. He first rose to prominence as the bassist of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies from 1989 to 1995, while also collaborating with Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir for funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves. After leaving Suicidal Tendencies, he performed with Ozzy Osbourne, Jerry Cantrell, and heavy metal band Black Label Society. Trujillo joined Metallica in 2003 and is the band's longest-serving bassist. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Metallica in 2009.

Nomeansno was a Canadian punk rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia and later relocated to Vancouver. Critic Martin Popoff described their music as "the mightiest merger between the hateful aggression of punk and the discipline of heavy metal." Nomeansno's distinct hardcore punk sound, complex instrumentation, and dark, "savagely intelligent" lyrics inspired subsequent musicians. Blind Idiot God is an American instrumental rock trio formed in 1982 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, by guitarist Andy Hawkins, bassist Gabriel Katz and drummer Ted Epstein. Afterwards, he joined The Damned, before founding Tank in 1980. Tank were part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement.

While Denver may not be as recognized for historical musical prominence like such cities as Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago or New York City, it still manages to have a very active popular, jazz, and classical music scene, which has nurtured many artists and genres to regional, national, and even international attention. Though nearby Boulder, Colorado has its own very distinct music scene, they are intertwined and often artists based there also play in Denver.

Hit Parader was an American music magazine that operated between 1942 and 2008. A monthly publication, it focused on rock and pop music in general until the 1970s, when its focus began turning to hard rock and heavy metal. By the early 1980s, Hit Parader focused exclusively on heavy metal and briefly produced a spinoff television program entitled Hit Parader's Heavy Metal Heroes. The magazine reached its circulation peak in the mid-to-late 1980s selling a half-million copies every month as heavy metal music achieved high levels of popularity and commercial success.

Flobots is an experimental rap rock band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2005 by Jamie Laurie. The band's origins date back 5 years earlier to a similar project by Laurie. Flobots found mainstream success with their major label debut Fight with Tools (2007), featuring the single "Handlebars", which became a popular hit on Modern Rock radio in April 2008. The band has released four studio albums and one EP, with their latest Noenemies being released in May 2017.

XO Stereo was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 2013 by ex-members of From First To Last, LoveHateHero, and The Hollowed and consists of lead vocalist / drummer Cooper Campbell, guitarist / keyboardist Justin Whitesel, and guitarist / bassist / keyboardist Jon Weisberg. The group was signed to Another Century Records with then became RED Music, a division of Sony Music and have released one EP entitled The Struggle. The group is known for the members past projects and the fact that each member plays multiple instruments in the band's recording process, allowing them to stay a three-piece band.
