Moonsorrow is a Finnish pagan metal band formed in Helsinki in 1995. Musically, the band incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal in their sound. The band call their sound "epic heathen metal" and try to distance themselves from the term "Viking metal". They have distanced themselves from other folk metal bands, emphasising that their music is pagan and spiritual and is challenging for its listeners, rather than happy or danceable. The band members have varying levels of pagan belief but they draw on pagan spirituality for lyrics and inspiration.
CMX, originally Cloaca Maxima, is a Finnish rock band. They originally played hardcore punk, but soon expanded to play a wide variety of rock formats, including progressive rock, heavy metal, and mainstream rock 'n' roll. Throughout their career, they have been influenced by progressive rock bands such as Rush, Yes, Tool and King Crimson. The progressive influence is most evident on their albums Dinosaurus Stereophonicus (2000) and Talvikuningas (2007).

Stone is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in Kerava in 1985. They released four albums and one live album during the late 1980s and early 1990s, before disbanding in 1992 to pursue different musical directions. Stone reunited to play a final set of concerts in 2000, but parted ways again soon afterwards. In 2008, Stone made five "reunion"/comeback appearances. They reunited again in March 2013 for select shows in order to promote their new box set. The band has remained active since then, and they have new material in the works.

"Ukko" in Finnish mythology is the greatest of the pagan gods and is a Finnish male name. The Japanese version features a bonus song eponymously titled from the Winter in June EP. The third quarter piece of the song "Across the Snows" is sung in Finnish.

The New Dark Age is the third studio album by the Finnish heavy metal band Kiuas. The album was released through Spinefarm Records on 12 March 2008 for Finland with new dates to be announced for other areas. The song "Conqueror", directed by Owe Lingwall, was shot as a music video on 18 February 2008. "Of Sacrifice, Loss and Reward" was released on 20 February as a single in Finland and topped the Finnish charts at number 1. The single will include two other songs and a Japanese bonus track exclusively to the single and Japan only. The album cover was designed by Niklas Sundin of Cabin Fever Media, and guitarist for Dark Tranquillity. It is of an original renaissance woodcut illustration with the portrayal of Kiuas' band members as the "five" Horsemen of the Apocalypse. A second music video for "The Decaying Doctrine" was again directed by Owe Lingwall.

The band released ten studio albums, three live albums, two EPs, two compilation albums and one DVD.
No Anaesthesia! is the second studio album by Finnish thrash metal band Stone, released in 1989. The album marked a slight change in sound from the band's self-titled previous album, incorporating progressive and neoclassical elements that Stone would expand on their subsequent albums, and the title track is notable for being the longest song the band ever recorded. No Anaesthesia! was remastered and re-issued in 2003, and again in 2009, when it was bundled with the preceding album in a 2-CD set. This is also the last Stone album to feature guitarist Jiri Jalkanen, who was fired from the band in 1990 and was replaced by Nirri Niiranen.
