Curriculum
CPCS offers all levels of the education ladder in one building (elementary, middle, and high school). Studies include the core subjects of English, math, science, and history. CPCS also offers an optional creative arts course including band, chorus, and studio art. The school currently has one foreign language options, Spanish. Therei s an after-school program, the Foreign Language club. The Foreign Language club has taken annual trips to Montreal, QC, Canada since 2006. In 2009 the club started taking trips to Europe. The club has traveled to England, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.
CPCS offers Advanced Placement courses in all the core subjects. These classes are usually sponsored by the College Board and are given AP tests in May that may end up counting for one semester of the class at the college level. There are several "College in High School" courses offered through SUNY Potsdam and Paul Smiths College where students earn college credit.
CPCS also has ties with New York's BOCES program.
Athletics
CPCS has three sports teams (one for each gender makes six in total): soccer, basketball, and lacrosse/softball. In 2007, the school opted to drop the baseball program and replace it with lacrosse. However, lacrosse was dropped in 2014, but is making a return in 2023. The teams play in NYS Section X, East Division, which includes about seven other teams.
The 1974 boys' varsity soccer team became the Division II champions and the first champion of the newly formed Northern Athletic Conference when they defeated Ogdensburg Free Academy 3-1 in the Section X championship game to complete a perfect 18-0-0 season.
The 1979 girls' varsity soccer team earned the title of Section 10-7 Class C Girls' Soccer Champions with a perfect 17-0-0 season.
The boys' varsity soccer team won the NYS Section X championship and qualified for states in 2003, 2005, and 2006. In 2006, the boys' soccer team won the New York State class D soccer crown. The boys went on to the Final Four in Oneonta, New York, at the National Soccer Hall of Fame. They advanced to finals on penalty kicks against Laurens Central of Section IV, winning the championship game 1-0 against SS Seward School from Section IX.
The State University of New York at Potsdam is a public college in Potsdam, New York. It is the northernmost member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Founded in 1816, it is among the oldest colleges in the United States. It is composed of the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Education and Professional Studies, and the Crane School of Music.
The State University of New York at Canton is a public college in Canton, New York. It is part of the State University of New York. The college offers 31 bachelor's degrees, 20 associate degrees, three one-year certificate programs, and 23 online degrees.
SUNY Broome Community College is a public community college in Broome County, New York. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY). The college was founded in 1946 and has gone through several name changes. The school is located in the Town of Dickinson, just north of the City of Binghamton, New York. The college had a 2010 enrollment of over 6,000 students and has alumni of over 41,000.
Tottenville High School is located at 100 Luten Avenue, in Huguenot, Staten Island, New York. Tottenville H.S. is in Administrative District 31, and is operated by the New York City Department of Education. The school's principal is Gina Battista, who assumed the role in 2020.
The Academy of American Studies is a public high school in Long Island City, Queens, New York, which was founded in 1996 by the New York City Board of Education and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. In June 2022, the school had approximately 1200 students;
Fayetteville–Manlius High School is a comprehensive New York public high school on East Seneca Turnpike in the Town of Manlius, serving grades 9–12 in the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District. It is the only high school in the district, and is the successor to both Wellwood Middle School and Eagle Hill Middle School. The school is governed under the authority of the New York State Education Department, whose standardized examinations are designed and administered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York.
Guilderland High School is a public senior high school, located in Guilderland Center, New York. It is part of the Guilderland Central School District. Constructed in 1953, the high school has since undergone additions in 1955, 1960, 1997, 2010, and 2021. Originally, the building functioned as a Junior-Senior High School, but after the construction of Farnsworth Middle School in 1970, the district divided the schools into two. As a school, Guilderland High School's enrollment jurisdiction also includes the village of Altamont, NY and the North Bethlehem neighborhood of Bethlehem, NY.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School (SMES) is a selective private, pre-K – 12th grade college preparatory school located in San Juan Capistrano, California. It is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES), the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Western States Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).
Liverpool High School (LHS) is a comprehensive New York public high school located on Wetzel Road in Liverpool, northwest of the city of Syracuse in the Liverpool Central School District, serving ninth to twelfth grade students. It is the only high school within the district, and is the successor to Liverpool Middle School, Soule Road Middle School, Chestnut Hill Middle School, and Morgan Road Middle School. The school is governed under the authority of the New York State Education Department, whose standardized examinations are designed and administered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York.

Seton Catholic Central is a private Roman Catholic school located on the Westside of Binghamton, New York. It is run by the Catholic Schools of Broome County, which is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse. The school was ranked 14 out of 100 of the best Catholic schools in New York State by Niche in 2016.
Bedford High School is a public high school in the town of Bedford, New Hampshire, United States. The high school adjoins the town's Ross A. Lurgio Middle School. The combined schools are situated on a 40-acre (160,000 m2) campus at 47 Nashua Road. The two schools share an 810-seat theatre, a 2000-seat gymnasium, a FieldTurf football field and a synthetic 400-meter track. The approximate cost for constructing this facility in combination with Lurgio was $50 million.
College of Staten Island High School For International Studies (CSIHSIS) is a New York City public high school that incorporates an internationally themed curriculum as well as preparing students for the 21st Century. CSIHSIS originally opened as a Region 7 public high school in 2005 on the College of Staten Island campus and moved to a new building in September 2008 located in New Springville, Staten Island. It was founded through a partnership with The College of Staten Island and Asia Society, with financial support by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Ursuline School is an American all-girls', independent, private, Roman Catholic middle and high school located on a 13-acre (53,000 m2) campus in New Rochelle, New York, in Westchester County.
Parkside High School is a four-year public high school in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is one of four public high schools in Wicomico County along with James Bennett High School, Wicomico High School, and Mardela Middle and High School.

Sachem High School East is a public secondary school located in Farmingville, New York. Along with Sachem High School North, it is one of the two high schools in the Sachem School District.
